Lacrosse games only count on neutral fields in the sunshine? Not exactly sure how that win was due to “luck”. Maybe you can explain?

The two resumes aren’t equal. RPI clearly has the better wins and more difficult schedule. They get the nod this week after a strong win vs another top ten team while Salisbury can’t separate from a 3-10 Washington squad. Ultimately meaningless until May. If RPI loses to Amherst on Wednesday, back down they go.
Interesting that SU can play WAC and win by five, game was never actually a tight game. One the oldest most well known lax rivalries that exist yet you feel they play a weak schedule. 54 straight home wins, 14-0 currently and defending Nat Champs. Top Massey ranking and poll ranking, your take seems to be based only on what you think but not by true supporting data.
The game was tight in the 4th quarter. WC cut the lead to 10-7 with 8 minutes left in the 4th.

i have watched most of salisbury’s games this year. saw a few in person. i have seen several RPI and RIT games. have also seen both of them in person. also have watched a few WC games. 10 out of 10 times, all three would beat WC. WC is not anywhere near as talented.
salisbury is the most complete team. everyone else has a weakness. including RIT and RPI

Tight games are 5 of the RPI wins by one or two goals. I doubt very much that anyone watching the SU game was really thinking the Gulls would lose. It never had that feel.

i talked to several of the SU parents. only game that had them and players a little concerned was the beginning of the york game when they went down 0-4 in the first quarter. but never panicked. they were never concerned with WC.

Giving them a scare might be the wrong way to put it. I’m sure the gulls felt like they were going to win the entire time. From the WAC side, being down 3 in the 4th is the closest anybody has been to beating SU all season long. SU is a much better team, this game just had a little bit of the War on the Shore feeling that has been missing the last few years. WAC still has a ton of work to do.

If you think those teams that you listed are equivalent, I don’t know what to say to you. Williams beat CNU soundly.

I think there is a conversation to be had about number 1. I’m not going to fault anyone for sticking by Salisbury, but let’s not pretend there can’t be a debate.

Need to question your rankings of Swarthmore, Steven’s and Babson just on strength of schedule or lack there of.

Swat has wins over Dickinson & Gettysburg + wins over Muhlenberg (who just beat Gburg) & Stockton. definitely good enough for Top 10 ranking - but may have them in the 7-9 range rather than at 6

Pollsters feel otherwise. Hard to knock a team with no loses or close games. IMO

you can debate swarthmore. they are anywhere between 5-15
the only debate for RPI is being #1 or being #2
they are undefeated
have the most top 20 wins

a lot is going to change over the next 2-3 weeks.

I agree right now RPI deserves to be #2. No question. They are undefeated. But if they played Salisbury, RIT, tufts tomorrow I'm gonna hammer the latter there. RIT beats them 8/10 times.

They are ranked #2. But I don't think they are the second best team in the country.

Agree, Hell, Army was ranked no 1 in D1 for a week. Now down at 12.
