Navy 2022
Re: Navy 2020
In terms of scheduling for 2021, I would think there is a good chance that only the brave will play. The Patriot seems to be following the Ivy in its aversion to risk, hence fall sports being cancelled in both. That could easily bleed into the spring, with the academies rightfully accepted. So assuming the Patriot bails in the spring but Navy (and Army) can indeed play, they will need to replace up to seven Patriot games (still playing Army). Due to Wuhan, these games probably need to be close to Annapolis. So, even with a truncated schedule, expect to see those in close proximity from the 2020 schedule like JHU and UMD as well as those they scrimmaged this season like Delaware and Georgetown. Others locally they can add are in 2021 are UMBC, Towson and The Mount. Philly is close enough, so Nova, Joe’s and Drexel make sense. They may have to go up to West Point, so Rutgers, NJIT, Sienna, Monmouth or Marist can be done if needed. These are all probably too much, since spring 2021 will probably be truncated, but they are possibilities.

I suspect that IF spring sports go away for Ivy and Patriot, so too will the ACC and Big 10.Comeonman wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 1:03 am In terms of scheduling for 2021, I would think there is a good chance that only the brave will play. Let's hope for a turnaround before then.

It would be great to scrap the conferences for 2021 & allow those who want to play to compete as independents.

Navy-Notre Dame football game will not be played in 2020 due to scheduling constraints imposed by the Atlantic Coast Conference, multiple sources have told The Capital.

Re: Navy 2020
I do not understand. ND is still playing an OOC but is hosting that OOC team at their stadium. Yet the ACC will allow ND to play out of town games at other in conference stadiums? Seems confusing. Are they trying to say Navy will not travel to them?
FROM ESPN
Because the ACC is requiring all nonconference games to be played in the teams' respective home states, Notre Dame could not travel to make the game happen.

Apparently that's worth more than having to travel to ND 3 straight years
The Navy-ND contract has been extended thru 2032.

Re: Navy 2020
If they successfully pull off the Navy-BYU FB game, in an empty Navy stadium, that could be a template for a worst case spring lax season.
-- games played in empty venues, serving as tv/streaming studio
-- play teams close enough to travel by bus, to/from own campus directly to/from stadium, on game day.
-- if necessary, scrap conf sched & just play teams within x hrs bus ride.
-- for PL, forego Navy & Loyola vs Colgate, HC & BU
-- it would still be possible, even for teams on the extremities, to play at least 5 or 6 PL games.

On social media, I saw a team post with Navy lacrosse players working out together. I wondered if this was an actual workout, or a throwback post from a previous season.

So far, the SA’s have shown great leadership. These young men and women are going through some extremely tough times right time. I certainly hope and pray the screws are not turned too tight.

Looked like about 4 or 5 personal fouls could have been called in those few seconds!!old salt wrote: ↑Sun Sep 06, 2020 4:05 pm Day #1 of contact.

Well, while not the W that the Mids and Navy Faithful were planning on vs. BYU, once again, the Mids, even in a contest L, can still make us all proud of them...old salt wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 10:19 pmNavy's secured a home game vs BYU, Sep 7 on ESPN.youthathletics wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 2:05 pmI do not understand. Navy And BYU Football Players Join Together For Powerful Moment. The Picture Is Pure America
It’s stuff like this that makes college football so damn cool. Navy got absolutely decimated last night, and still came together with BYU for an awesome moment.
You would never see something like this in the NFL. It’s the perfect reminder of why college football is simply on a different level.
