Spotify sent a playlist to the war dept. this a.m. 1973 soul/pop. Lots of music from the jukebox at the Brass Rail in Oneonta. Al Green, Marvin Gaye, The Spinners and all. I remember those Oneonta State sorority girls dancing on the bar and singing right along. A lot of smiles on a lot of faces.
Boy George on BBC3's 100 Most Annoying Songs: "Most people are very ignorant politically and we're all told how glamorous war is. Most kids love to watch Star Wars, which is basically space age war thing and I think a lot of people see war as really glamorous and I think it's about time they saw something that showed it for what it is."
If you wear red tonight
Remember what I said tonight
For red is the color that my baby wore
And what is more, it's true
Yes it is
Scarlet were the clothes she wore
Everybody knows I'm sure
I would remember all the things we planned
Understand, it's true
Yes it is, it's true
Yes it is
I could be happy with you by my side
If I could forget her, but it's my pride
Yes it is, yes it is
Oh, yes it is, yeah
Please don't wear red tonight
This is what I said tonight
For red is the color that will make me blue
In spite of you, it's true
Yes it is, it's true
Yes it is
I could be happy with you by my side
If I could forget her, but it's my pride
Yes it is, yes it is
Oh, yes it is, yeah
Please don't wear red tonight
This is what I said tonight
For red is the color that will make me blue
In spite of you, it's true
Yes it is, it's true
Yes it is, it's true
