He also ran very good offense at Vermont. Good luck. SU will be fine.tech37 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2019 11:13 pmBut with the benefit of a Sowers...Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2019 8:41 pmTop 10 offense at Princeton without the benefit of a dominant FOGO. A really good coach. Players will like playing for him. Best of luck to Coach March and the Orange. I am sure old #22 weighed in.
Nothing against the guy, just surprised SU went with someone outside the program.

This is akin to Benson leaving and Hopkins hiring a West Genny grad to run their offense.

No argument from me. Good coach. Hope he does well. Guys with roots to an area is always nice and often preferable. I agree. Good luck this season. Hope the fans give the guy a chance.tech37 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2019 7:31 amAnd none of that is the point of course...Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2019 7:25 amHe also ran very good offense at Vermont. Re: Syracuse 2020
I get that it would be nice to have a Syracuse guy, because the program has always been about family, but getting someone with roots outside CNY makes a LOT of sense to me from a recruiting perspective. CNY High School lacrosse is not what it used to be. The last time SU won the NC, they had guys from CNY who won the Empire State Games gold medal, like Nims, Hardy and Abbott. If they kept playing the ESG, CNY would never win. In fact, they may be behind both LI and Western consistently, and struggle with HV. In the reincarnations of the ESG that happen occasionally, LI gets split up by county to make it more competitive.Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2019 7:54 amNo argument from me. Good coach. Also, SU already has coaches with deep CNY roots. A former Syracuse player with roots somewhere else, might've been the ideal candidate, if any of them had the coaching chops that March has, but March sounds like he's been successful at all of his stops. I'm very much looking forward to what the team looks like in the spring.

Very dynamic offense. Interesting to see how it translates at Syracuse. Wishing him and the program luck.ohmilax34 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2019 9:29 amI get that it would be nice to have a Syracuse guy, because the program has always been about family, but getting someone with roots outside CNY makes a LOT of sense to me from a recruiting perspective. Players make the offense...with Scanlan coming in, Djorkovic back and the young guns maturing, SU has plenty of firepower. Gone are the days when takeaway defensemen would lead to face break goals...

Djorkovic would be a new guy, oldjay, but I think fans and the team are glad Dordevic will be back.

Seems like half of the under-40 people in NYC wear those earpods. Anyway, between Scanlan and the returning Orangemen (I don't know much about incoming freshmen), I can't help but wonder if Cuse makes the 2020 Final Four.

Annapolis newspaper has an article on Pat March in today’s edition. capitalgazette.com. I can’t post the link now.
