Re: New Jersey 2020
anybody have any preseason predictions for this year?
Re: New Jersey 2020
I'm thinking:
G1: Glen Ridge
G2: Summit
G3: Chatham
G4: Hunterdon Central
NPa: SHP
NPB: Pingry
South doesn't look that strong this year without Manasquan and maybe Moorestown can make a push for G3

Re: New Jersey 2020
So you are saying only one team that won a state championship in 2019 will repeat? not even the TOC champion? Not buying it, but am not going to make a prediction and jinx my squad. I do think it is going to be a very interesting year. I think the usual suspects will be good again in the publics: Mt Lakes, Summit, Chatham could have a big year, Montgomery should be good. Nonpublic A is really loaded with talent, with all three of the big Bergen teams Bosco, St Joes, and BC being solid. Add St Augustine, Delbarton and Seton Hall and that tournament is going to be very interesting.
Re: New Jersey 2020
I don't think the TOC champion is gonna be particularly strong next year. They had an extremely talented 2019 class that carried much of their workload. I'm not saying it'll be a stretch for them to win Group 1, and predicting Glen Ridge may have been going out on a little bit of a limb, but I don't think they'll be able to compete with the big boys again this year. Definitely agree with you on BC and Bosco being stronger this year, but not so sure about St Joes. I'm also not sure if BC and Bosco will be able to compete with Delb, SHP, or st augustine, but as we saw last year anything can happen. I really think Hunterdon Central will be very strong this year and probably the team to beat out of all the publics. That all being said though, it's really hard to tell until we see all these teams out on the field.
Re: New Jersey 2020
i'm pretty sure lakes graduated all 10 starters - but i think they're still a better team then glen ridge. hunterdon central is going to be legit. delby/shp should be lead dogs in the A. who even knows what will happen in the B, it was brutal last year. 2 will most likely be summit - 3 should come down to chatham/moorestown again.njlax1234 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 9:56 pm I don't think the TOC champion is gonna be particularly strong next year. Re: New Jersey 2020
just a matter of time before spring sports get cancelled. what a shame.
Re: New Jersey 2020
The state has to find a way to play this season once it is safe. What is the downside of a May/ June season?
Re: New Jersey 2020
School will be over by the time they'll be able to play...

Re: New Jersey 2020
NJSIAA talking about extending seasons - who knows what will happen. Schools aren't going back until May basically, which seems like that won't happen either.
Re: New Jersey 2020
Have the New York/New Jersey kids been doing online school? Or are you all on break?
Texas kids are doing online and therefore will finish the semester on time.

Re: New Jersey 2020
NJSIAA stated that if school goes back by 5/25 that they will extend spring sports until 6/30. i'm assuming some sort of abbreviated schedule with a tournament to the sectional level.
