Seacoaster(1) wrote: Wed May 08, 2024 6:31 am My choice of JMU over We Are....well, I might well be wrong. PSU plays a tougher schedule, has tournament chops from the B1G tournament, and has -- when you see them play it is kind of obvious -- really good athletes all over the field. I chose JMU because of the coaching advantage, and the discipline that comes with it. The game is again at a neutral field...where Penn State plays every other year or so, and where JMU picked off Maryland this year. So, we'll see.

Sorry if this was more response than you were looking for.
Good thoughts except the Terps beat the Dukes 11-8 this year...
Oh man, big mistake. Thanks for the correction!
I agree though the Dukes come out on top ;)

4:00 PM Mercer vs. Michigan
4:00 PM Fairfield vs. Johns Hopkins
6:00 PM North Carolina vs. Florida
7:00 PM Richmond vs. #8 Pennsylvania

My first round and some reasons :
1. Yale...just too strong
2. ND...I would love for Coastal to win because it would raise the sport, but I have to be honest
3. Stony Brook...Niagara will claw and fight and go hard, SBU has better talent and a high level program
4. JMU...Better players overall, stronger program
5. Virginia...by a lot, but I want Meg McNamara's kids to have a good showing. LIU has won 10 of their last 11 games
6. Denver...Liza Kelly is one of the Best Coaches in the game. UD is in every game.
7. This is a toss-up! Why? Drexel's Goalie(Jenika Cuocco) is quietly one of the BEST Goalies in D1. Drexel plays good defense too. Princeton has played well this season.
8. Loyola...this is not going to be close. Maybe Running Clock in first half
9. Michigan...Solid team, a little inconsistent at times, but well coached by Hannah Neilsen. Erin O'Grady...the BEST goalie in D1.
10. Hopkins, slightly... Fairfield is TOUGH and will not back down. Also the inconsistency of Hopkins' goalie, tells me that Fairfield has a decent shot at an upset.
11. Not familiar with either team. No comment
12. Penn...Karin Corbett(one of the 5 best in D1), Nikki Miles, Anna Brandt, Lexi Edmonds, Izzy Rohr, Erika Chung. Strong Personnel

My big is 6-9. Then obvious past 10 is running clock.
I go 6. Got a feeling.

Forgot that there was a noon and 1pm game. Great job NCAA to actually space them out a little bit.

Maryland- Blowout already
Yale- Not as much of a blowout as one would think. Tight early and Yale runs away
Notre Dame- Blowout in progress. Looking at common opponents, this is an easy game for the Irish
Stony Brook- Blowout
JMU- possibly the best game of the day
Virginia-blowut
Denver- Trusting the defense on this one, I am ready to be wrong on this one
Drexel- I don't know if Princeton is actually good or not, they will exposed at somepoint
Loyola Maryland- This one might be a tough result for the Blue Devils. Hounds have a big time advantage in goal and at the draw
Michigan- Big
Johns Hopkins- This result and the duke result will raise questions about the selection process if it goes the way I think it will
Florida- Hotter team at this time
Pennsylvania- closer than you will expect

Why do i think the committee thay set that match up did it on purpose to advance one team?

Maryland isn't anything special but they probably would have coasted against most of the other one-bid league AQs. And for all the Cathy Reese is on the committee conspiracy talk, it collapses when you realize their second round opponent is either the team that knocked them out last year or the one that's beaten them in 4 of the last 5 meetings.

I just saw the score and was wondering if much of the bench was even getting to play lol

Fairfield basically in a home game against Hopkins in New Haven. Bit of a dogfight ahead?

Good one at College Park: PSU 13, JMU 12 in the 4th.

14-13 Dukes, about 3:00 to go....

37 seconds to go, JMU leading by one, PSU's ball. Good game.

Costly TO that led to a dukes goal proved costly. If PS scores there instead they go up by 2
Guess I’m 0-1 so far :(
