UNC 2024 End of Season (2024-2025 Predictions)

Post by uncfan1013 »

The NCAA tournament nears which also means the end of an era for many heels. Excited for the recruits to come but also sad for many of the players.

Caitlyn Wurzburger’s story is implying she will NOT return next season. A great career at UNC, but I think it’s good for her knowing we have lots of depth next season.

The attack for next season is dangerous.

Addison Pattillo (5-star incoming recruit)
Tess Calabria (5-star incoming recruit)
Eva Ingrilli (Amazing scorer this season, injured rn)
Chloe Humphrey (2023 #1 recruit, season ending injury)
Marissa White (2023 UNC leading scorer, season ending injury)
Kiley Motice (Breakout sophomore season)
Caroline Godine (another good scorer and threat on the offensive end)
Ashley Humphrey (a great feeder)

Reilly Casey** (Good scorer, not sure if she will return but has a redshirt year)

I'm confused CW is a senior and does not have another year of eligibility. Covid free years stopped prior to her class. UNC comes back stronger than ever and will dominate womens lax for the next 4 years. Every other top team is graduating tons of talent and they are getting stronger.

Definitely need to shore up the D and goalie position.

How would she be able to return ? She did not have covid year. Her class is 4 years only . It’s why Hasselback from BC - dad tried to get an extra year from NCAA and was unable to get it .

D and goalie position def weak areas . UNC will have to score a ton…also maybe UNC should work in off-season the get the hang of employing a great Zone. Man D only works with great/athletic defenders . Part of the issue this year. They were not strong enough to do Man

Right now UNC feels like the Northwestern teams in between their two most recent titles. Next year if players come back healthy (which is no guarantee) they'll have the talent to outscore anybody but also give up plenty of goals on defense. It wasn't until NW improved on defense last year that they were able to get over the hump and win another title.

Don’t follow UNC closely, but don’t both Nalls and Hall depart after this year? A lot of offense returns, but who stops the other team?

Not sure if this response is some new confusion or is just piling on to prior responses pointing out that Caitlyn W does not have any more years left to use, is a true senior, with no COVID or medical redshirt, and so this is her final year. Maybe she's happy knowing that there will be great depth next year, maybe not, but regardless, she is done.

I mixed up other sports eligibility. The defense needs to improve a lot next year but Lexi Zenk seems like a good candidate for the GK position. Also, I think we could make players better at defending like Emily Nalos who was originally an attacker. So, we can make some of the midfielders more of a defender
