I mean, they were Zero and Twelve a little more than a decade ago.

If they can make it through the A-10, definite NCAA tournament upset potential.

They're beating UPenn, they're beating UMass, they're beating Towson, they're beating Penn State - where they couldn't compete at all with these teams not all that long ago.
Yeah, and they play a tough brand of lacrosse. Full respect.

Coach Wray said in an interview a year or 2 ago that things started to turn around when they got the full 12.6 scholarships. It sure helps level the playing field. Hobart had a whopping 3 for this season..........
12.6 and good merit money that stacks on that is very helpful. Recruiting and developing an AA FOGO in Zach Cole and 3 Attackman that will all break the existing all time SJU goal record was huge. Need to sustain that recruiting and developing piece. Selectively filling holes in the roster with quality transfers has helped a ton as well
If only Coach Cullinan could see the Hawks today.
RIP.

But I have a friend who is traveling from Baltimore up to that school this weekend for the Bonnies' game vs. Richmond. For those of you who are familiar, at least to some extent, with that drive, are there any stops, sites, and restaurants on the way that you recommend?

Any recommendations would be great! Thanks so much!!
How is your friend driving? If they're taking Route 17, the Roscoe Diner in Roscoe NY is a classic place to stop, eat, & refuel on the way from NYC to Central NY State.
Best onion rings in the world. “Famous” Roscoe diner. Used to go rafting/canoeing on the Delaware outside Hancock (Calicoon) and we’d camp and then hit Roscoe on our way to crash the oneonta bars where suny & Hartwick girls partied back in the day. The desserts look better than they taste though.

Just watch out for deer on 17/86 from Sullivan co and East. They run WITH the cars not away form them.

Not to turn this into the St Joe's thread,

but they've got a kid coming in from St. Michael’s College next year,
call him the "poor man's" Matt Collison - not quite as big, a rightie.

I would think incoming freshman will get opportunities to play particularly on offense. A lot of production exhausting their eligibility

A-10 should get a bit more respect. Too bad the selection committee will only give the A 10 one slot in the playoffs. I'd be willing to bet that none of the rest of the field would like to meet St. Joes or Richmond in the 1st round.

Honestly,

the entire 2nd team attack unit could just as well be the A-10 1st team attack unit.

A-10 still getting their act together in Lacrosse - but they did make some moves this year, were competitive versus the top three conferences.

St Joe's beat UPenn, HPU beat UNC, Richmond with that competitive Out of Conference schedule.

A 10 regular season awards are out. Pretty much as expected. The only beef I have is the rookie of the year award going to a sophomore. Was he injured all his freshman year? Or did he just not play? Either way, he's not a rookie imo. 1st round of the tourney starts today at 3.

Didn't play a game last year. Not sure if it was because of an injury or redshirt. But, looks like this could be considered his "redshirt-freshman" year
