Also, I’ll be damned if I can get a read on Nassau A. I know F’dale lost Ippoliti, but I was hoping they’d be able to repeat in Nassau, at least. But the results are a mess thus far with Port beating Pequa, Pequa beating Syo, Syo taking F’dale to OT (not to mention Pequa beating Wantagh and then Wantagh crushing F’dale). Someone earlier had said the Daler’s window might’ve closed last year and I fear that might be true.
Southampton? That's one hell of a commute! Helicopters involved? I was surprised to see how many Chaminade kids live in Pt. Lookout. Lots of Garden City people move to Pt. Lookout and don't view Long Beach H.S. as a viable alternative.
It's interesting, because Point Lookout is only 11 square blocks wide. I'm thinking that some of the players listed from Point Lookout are actually from slightly east of there in Long Beach proper. Your point about not viewing Long Beach High School as viable alternative is definitely true!

LI13 wrote: Fri Apr 19, 2024 3:04 pm Just for fun I went through the rosters of every ACC, Big Ten, and Ivy team and looked to see the hometowns of the St Anthony's players on those rosters. Guess on what school they'd have gone to isn't always accurate (i.e. some kids listed as hometown Syosset still go to CSH, etc), but close.

Brennan O’Neill (Duke) - Bay Shore
Andrew McAdorey (Duke) – Floyd
Jake Naso (Duke) – Sachem North
Aiden Danenza (Duke) – Jericho
Owen Duffy (UNC) – Westhampton
Cole Aasheim (UNC) – Oyster Bay
Jack Walshe (UVA) – Commack
Danny Parker (ND) – Mt. Sinai
Jalen Seymour (ND) – Hills
Jake Bonomi (ND) – Northport
Michael Leo (Cuse) – Seaford
Luke Martin (Hopkins) – Hills
Max McCarthy (Hopkins) – Huntington
Kevin Kearns (Michigan) – Wantagh
Patrick Carragher (PSU) – Bellmore-Merrick
Joe Calandrino (PSU) – Massapequa
Jaeden Jenkins (PSU) – Hills
Jack Speidell (Harvard) – Ward Melville
Jackson Greene (Harvard) – CSH
Greg Campisi (Harvard) – Farmingdale
Jaden Jernigan (Harvard) – Elmont
Nice stuff Chris. Not only are the hometowns interesting, seeing the colleges laid out together like that is very interesting. 4 at Harvard but zero at any other Ivy? The Duke pipeline is well known and obviously ND makes sense but some of the other top schools (UVA, MD) rarely bring in St. A players. There are (Chanenchuk) of course exceptions.
I was really surprised to see that Harvard was the only Ivy with St Anthony's players.
Also strange to see no Chaminade guys at Harvard right now (Gerry is an alum).

For the purposes of my list I didn't differentiate between Long Beach and Point Lookout because I just tried to predict where they'd have been zoned for high school.

It’s been a few years since Wantagh last won (10?), they should have a real shot tonight

Was 2012 but it was at Shuart Stadium I was there. Matt Balzano on Wantagh had a huge day.

Maybe it was a 2011 game but I know I've seen Manhasset play at Hofstra soccer. Anyway, another game of never having the ball today.

I think you may be right about that. Next year Manhasset will be a lot stronger. They have a good sophomore class. I believe two starters (Seniors) have been out due to injury.

Manhasset could be looking down the barrel of a 6 game losing streak to end the regular season. Woe betide the team that takes them lightly in the playoffs.

Probably slight favorite vs Pequa but decided underdog in the other three games. When's the last time Manhasset lost 8 games?

Probably 2014, that was a down year. They lost to Lynbrook twice that year. It's a combination of down year coinciding with the first year of the power league. They will bounce back. Still dangerous to take them lightly moving forward.
