With the season getting underway last night wanted to point out some notable scores from 4/2:
Don Bosco 11 Victor (NY) 2
Mtn Lakes 11 West Morris 8
IMG 9 Seton Hall 8
St. Augustine 8 Westfield 7
Looking forward to following a great season especially in the Non-Public A. What's everyone's predictions heading in?
New Jersey 2024
Re: New Jersey 2024
Seems wide open this year, as usual in NJ. One of, if not the most competitive state for hs lax. Hoping to see my hermits in the TOC again. Will Rumson be a dominant team like have been the last few years?

With a convincing W over Victor yesterday, seems like Bosco it out for revenge this year. Heard they tied SHP 10-10 in their preseason scrimmage. A loaded offense led by Duke commit Brady Scioletti along with a D returning a majority of their starters with SJU Commit, Colton Carfello in cage. Hoping they can get over that Delbarton hump come the end of season.

They did a way with the TOC after the 2022 season, Mountain Lakes 21 - RFH 5.
Last year they played the Kirst Cup.

Delby takes a 6-5 W over Mtn Lakes yesterday which will most likely be the first of two games b/w them with the second coming in the Morris county title later in the year. St Augustine falls to Penn Charter 9-7. Low scoring match up b/w two public powers as Westfield beats Summit 5-3. Absolute dominant win for Coach Matt Lane as Bosco smokes Iona Prep 17-5.

Down goes SHP to a very gritty Westfield team. Playing field seems pretty even this season for the top programs.

Love seeing those power publics take down a private from the outside. But being on the other side of those always stings. Big one in Ramsey tonight as Bosco takes on Lakes. Scioletti was out last week against BC but they still took care of business, will be interesting to see how they match up this year compared to last years beatdown.
Re: New Jersey 2024
I see Lawrenceville beat their main rival the Hill School 25-6 today. I hope they are very proud of themselves. I haven’t seen a discussion on this board, as was somewhat common on Laxpower, over the lack of sportsmanship on running up the score to embarrass an opponent. I obviously didn’t care for it or I wouldn’t bother to write. When Landon was dominant 20 years ago they never did it. I feel classy programs never would do it. But it certainly changes my opinion of the program at Lawrenceville and the big money that is behind it. Not the lesson I would want taught to my kids, but clearly I grew up in a different era. The counter argument is always try your hardest and don’t patronize your opponent by letting up. To me that’s pure rationalization. Even Tierney would never go above 19 in his Tiger years and no one ever accused him of being a sweetheart. It is what it is.
