Off ball offense and ball movement were huge factors when it came to Virginia’s offensive success this past weekend, and obviously staples of successful teams. Each of these upcoming teams have their guy(s) with the ball in their stick, but they also have elite off ball players.
Cuse has their ball dominant players, but when they are most successful that ball is zipping around and everyone eats. Production on offense is crucial to this upcoming game, but sound team defense can win this game for the heels.
All Heels All Day, excited for Saturday.
UNC 2024
Re: UNC 2024
I like the positive energy for Saturday!
But looking at the next 3 games, the Heels will not be favored in any one of them. Assuming the team does not win an ACC game this year, and considering that the team won only one ACC game last year and subsequently there were major staff changes and a shortened contract extension for the HC, what do believe will happen at the end of this season?

They will do what they always do.......Throw more money at the problem. Seriously, hoping they upset a couple of ACC teams during the remaining regular season.Lax4love wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2024 11:19 am I like the positive energy for Saturday!

What do you mean by "throw more money at the problem" and how has this happened in the past? I am just trying to understand what might happen, not trying to be flip about it.....

I just don't think lacrosse is that important, at any of these power 5 schools. The AD is so consumed with the money and NIL parts of bball and foobtall, does he really care enough to shake up the men's lacrosse program? Assuming Breschi has 2 more years on his contract, I would imagine it just plays out.

In order that the Heels win versus Cuse, Wambach/Tyeryar will need to get to at least 45%. Anything less, UNC's very good defense just won't hold back Cuse's offense for 4 full quarters. The good news is UNC has two good FOGO's, so they will be able to alternate quickly if one appears to be losing too much to Kohn. The bad news is Cuse has two good FOGO's as well.
If you are Breschi, this weekend would be the weekend to issue a challenge to the players to see if they're capable of fighting for their lives, if not Joe's. If they lose this home game to Cuse with remaining games against ND and Duke, Joe's job will be in jeopardy; if they lose this weekend, there is no shot at .500; if they win, they can at least envision .500.
Re: UNC 2024
they're 6 and 5 with 2 games remaining after this weekend. so winning only 1 of the 2 would get them to .500 (for regular season) even with a loss.Finster wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2024 12:47 pmJustR3Lax wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2024 9:06 am Off ball offense and ball movement were huge factors when it came to Virginia’s offensive success this past weekend, and obviously staples of successful teams. You’re correct.
What I meant was I don’t see UNC beating either ND or Duke.
Re: UNC 2024
Hoping tomorrow is the day to turn the ship around. I'm wondering if the unproductive strategy of getting Matan to dodge up top will be on the menu tomorrow? OC has seemed to go to it time and again with limited success. We need Dom to take some pressure off Duffy, and ANY middie production would help.wgdsr wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2024 1:13 pmthey're 6 and 5 with 2 games remaining after this weekend. so winning only 1 of the 2 would get them to .500 (for regular season) even with a loss.Finster wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2024 12:47 pmJustR3Lax wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2024 9:06 am Off ball offense and ball movement were huge factors when it came to Virginia’s offensive success this past weekend, and obviously staples of successful teams. NIL has spread to the non revenues and the Tar Heels really excel at it. It has been a big difference maker in their recruiting for 24 and 25. Great school, but They have recruited at a level that, otherwise, wouldn’t be possible without it.
Re: UNC 2024
at what point will you stop with this nonsense? it's like the 10th post. please stop. lawrenceville and deerfield cost like $70k per year. no one cares. the parents have money to blow in lacrosse. uva has plenty of advantages and the fact that unc gets top ranked recruiting classes isn't a new thing, nor does it confer top team status. so hoo cares?blue angels wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2024 8:02 pmNIL has spread to the non revenues and the Tar Heels really excel at it. Hasn't Carolina had (uninterrupted) top-5 recruiting classes all the way back since the early 80's years of Mike Burnett, David Wingate, Tom Sears, etc etc etc? I can't recall a UNC squad without top talent. Maybe the Klarmann/Haus years were more spotty, but even then, in spite of off field issues, my memory is kids signed up to UNC at a very willing clip. No NIL back then either.

How does getting rocked into the crease setting a legal screen result in a turnover? Am I missing a rule?
Re: UNC 2024
Cuse likely wins this game cause let’s face it, UNC is not good. But it’s such classic cuse to be hotdogging it and throwing no angle btbs into the side of the net up only 4 in the 3rd.

Couple of plays away from wins over Army and Syracuse. Damn it.
Re: UNC 2024
Breschi wasting their last time out off the faceoff with ~1:50 left was horrible. Would’ve saved possession with about :27 left when Duffy got stripped.
