Re: Pre-season Polls
Hard not to pick Middlebury. They have won the National Championship the last three full seasons they have played (19,22,23) and are 70-2 over that time span. With very few seniors, expect them to be preseason number 1 next year as well.
This year's team is arguably better than last year's team. Rule changes (green cards) could disrupt their attacking zone defense but I expect Coach Livesay to adjust to the new rules as the season progresses.

Pomona-Pitzer with a first place vote…
Re: Pre-season Polls
Interesting….
I’d be surprised if they’re able to stay in the top 20. They had a lot of seniors last year.

Re: Pre-season Polls
I think someone was displaying their West Coast pride. I think they will be a top-25 team again this year. They have several of their top scores back from last year including two top girls my daughter played against. Some good players out West just do not get recruited to come East. Their roster is full of players from a mixture of schools that are traditional lacrosse schools.
Re: Pre-season Polls
Excited to see how PP fares. The Midwest and West Coast teams are always a bit of a mystery when they are untested. Always a bit disappointing when they don’t test themselves more in their out of conference games.westcoastlax wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 6:00 pm I think someone was displaying their West Coast pride. Re: Pre-season Polls
Convincing win for #7 W&L over #4 Franklin & Marshall.
Re: Pre-season Polls
Preseason ranking based on end result of 2023 and are often not realistic. Good win by W&L but F&M started season overrated because they had cakewalk to final four last year. Still a good team and coach but overrated at this point. W&L needs to prove itself in May which has not been kind to them. Bullets have a tough non-conference schedule early in the season. They graduated at ton on the back end but bring back its best player in pre-season POY on defense. Bullets attack will be great this year.
I think Smith should have been pre-season # 2 and now is more experienced. Nescac does not play for two weeks so we will see how they start. Top teams in that conference will contend again.
Salisbury dominated Catholic...not quite sure how to read that. Gulls schedule is one of the best in the country so we will soon see how they fare against this competition.
Looking forward to the new season!
