Overtime Timeouts

Post by Gorilla Fan »

PLL did away with OT TO’s.

Overtime timeouts are brutal at a game live in person. Sit for 10 minutes after regulation, then team huddle, then immediate TO after possession.

Watching, it might be worse listening to analysts trying to fill space.

Overtimes are only timed at 4 minutes.

Back in the day, teams could save themselves with timeouts from troubling situations, a t/o in the middle of the field. A pole in trouble, after an immediate face-off win. No longer, TO needs to be in box.

After the end of regulation, teams have a few minutes to plan situations and scenarios during the break. What personal, matchups, transition thought, etc

It’s only 4 mins of playing time til the next break. There is no need, except for over controlling couches and naps.

Would be interesting to talk about strategies and results as the season progresses
