Those who have been inside the program, what its like to be recruited by the coaches? If i'm honest, i am a little surprised that no 2025's have committed yet to the program

My experience when I was recruited was that Toomey was always looking for Diamonds in the rough. He knew Loyola didn’t have the academic status of the Ivy’s, Duke, UNC, UVA, etc… so he knew it would be tough to attract the five star recruits. He focused on getting a few of them and rounding it out with a bunch of athletes who wanted to play D1 but weren’t top 100s. That was me.
If you look at the past few years the only five stars were Scanlon and Minicus. Top 100 players were Lindsay, Staudt, McGorry, McCulloch, Bateman and maybe one more.
It also seems like when the team does well (quarter final loss to Duke in 2021, the next recruiting class (2023 HS) is really strong (2022 class had a five star and five four star recruits. By far the most ever for them). The 2023 class lacks high end recruitment probably due to them not making the tournament the past two years. Kids want to play for winners. As the victories increase I think the recruiting will increase.
Really looking forward to UMBC scrimmage on October 6. Want to see what some of these 2022 kids can do with more playing time.

I love the Remy Reynolds pickup. Kid is fun to watch. Enjoyed seeing him play in hs.
The UMBC scrimmage will be good. They are a team on the rise and should be good in '24.
That opening slate is gonna be tough. Win or lose, the hounds will be prepared for PL paly, which is awesome.
Recruiting-wise, the Hounds could really use another lefty threat or sniper attackman. They do well when they have "balanced sides" in MVA offenses.

Killed UMBC. Heuston started things off with a lefty goal. West, McCulloch, Kamish, Haberman, McGorry, were notable goal scorers. Defense played well without a couple starters. Bunch of guys out with injuries ( Higgins, Houlihan, Minicus, Murphy and others). Went up 6-1 and cruised. I counted 17-5. Alumni weekend was a blast.

Awesome to hear! from the clip on Instagram it looks like the offensive guys were who you mentioned in addition to kenan everhart (#44). Mcgorry beat his defender, swept topside and shot on the run for a goal which is nice to see.

Who were the others injured? And how did faceoffs go

Wasn't there but heard that Hounds beat Villanova 18-9 and Fairfield 16-10. Younger guys got reps. Bean and Staudt did not play. Nothing serious. Just held out for precaution. That's all I have.

Poitras was a beast all day. Haberman played great. Figuring out second middie group with Higgins coming back in spring and Minicus coming back to attack. Think Core had a goal and McGorry had two or three. Heuston is a beast and Binney being a lefty can shoot. Very impressive day for the hounds.

I know you’ve expressed qualms about Binney in the past, but do you think the decision making and playmaking ability are better this year?

From IL writeup ——

James’ linemate Adam Poitras stood out in the first contest before netting numerous goals in the second
