Re: Senior Night @ The Pat...

The Chantilly Chargers came into Pat Cunningham Stadium to face a Cavalier team with 10 Seniors. I was surprised as 10 marched out with families as I had missed that number (Doc T maybe this is a post Coronavirus fallout as like Robo (11) maybe more were kept on the squad?) All 10 were rolled out on the field at the start & it didn't slow down WTW who scored at the 34 second mark. The clock ran at 8:41 in the 1st half & it ended 12-1. The starters were out for the 2nd half & it ended 17-2. The contrast on the sideline was what was startling as the Chargers had 4 subs & the Cavs had 17. Trouble Brewing: The Chargers had 7 SRs & the small JV squad took a 10+ goal shutout loss to the Cavs JV so I didn't see much help coming for the Purple. The former "Blonde Sensation" Coach probably owe those terrible Chantilly parents a few years ago a debt of gratitude for destroying the lax program so he could leave to be at a program that has a future. [Moderator: UAO that is pretty harsh!] Sorry Mod but this was a program that won it all in 2009 with a dominating squad, just saying.

Re: Spartans 7 - Wildcats 6

Entertaining game at West Springfield tonight as C-Ville came calling. Sparty got on the board first but Cats came back with two. It was 5-4 Cats when Sparty took a YC & a Man-Up G made it 6-4 just inside 5 minutes left. A late YC gave Sparty a chance & they got it to 5-6 at 13 seconds left in the 1st half. Not sure Cats had scouted WS but on the DC they left Sturtevant #23 alone on the draw after she already had a hat-trick & se stuck her 4th goal with 2.5 seconds left knotting the game at 6. The second half was a defensive struggle so let me talk about the WS snackbar it was Spartan alright nothing....nothing...you realize the extra effort to have Pizza & the legenday Woodson corndog last night! Oh well, the offense was also Spartan as 20 minutes went by with it still just 6-6 including the Cats goalie having to line up behind the shooter on the arc. Ofcourse the shooter missed the empty net! Finally it was first one to 7 & with 2:33 left WS scored on a cut. The best two players after WS #23 were two frosh Cats #2 & #22 with two goals each.

I question Colgan being ahead of Battlefield. Battlefield beat them and Battlefield has a slightly tougher schedule up to this point. So that one doesn’t make sense to me. But I think Battlefield playing a team in a lower class Division hurt them with the Fauquier game

Another OT thriller in North Arlington tonight as well saw the Washington-Liberty Generals (H) beat Yorktown 14-13, scoring at the 2:18 mark of the first OT period after the YT goalie made a free position save at the end of regulation to send it to the extra session.

Re: Friday Night Lights...Cavaliers 17-Spartans 7

Post by UnderArmourOdor »

Battle Royale at West Springfield tonight as two of the best coaches in NoVA ran went at it hard tonight. The game was very even at the start as it went 1-1 & 2-2 before the Cavs got it going to 5-2 but Sparty's #7 got two back in a hurry 5-4. The last eight minutes of the 1st half saw an offensive explosion with the Cavs getting 6 & Sparty getting 2 to end it 11-6 with WTW getting the last with :13 seconds left. Cavs came out rolling getting it to 12 with just 33 ticks off the clock. Luckily the "A" team of officials was calling the play as it got a little chippy in the 2nd half as WS picked up two more YCs in the seond half. The battle in the middle of the field was entertaining between the Sparty middie trio of 7-19-23 (a SR & 2 JRs) & the Cavs fivesome (a SR, JR, SO & 2 Frosh.) The clock ran at 17-7 to end it.
