ND@Cuse 3/11@1900hrs.

Post by DMac »

Two good undefeated teams meet in the Dome this evening, only one will leave undefeated. Cuse is 3-0 with one more game under their belt than the 2-0 Fighting Irish, this one promises to be a good game. Haven't seen ND play but I suspect they'll come into the Dome all kinds of fired up looking to knock the Orange off, would be a nice shamrock for their derby while a win for the Orange would be a real nice feather in their cap. This is probably the toughest test to date for both teams, will it be feather or shamrock? Tune in here to find out.

Yep—Big anticipation for this one. Fingers crossed there ain’t no covid hiccups before game time. Prime time slot at 7pm! And whichever team doesn’t get to adorn their hat after the game will get another shot in 3 days.

Does Notre Dame have a draw specialist? I know Gait usually employs a draw by committee, even with #51 in the lineup.

Ummm ... Aldave? Perhaps you have heard of her? Draw is actually one area of this match up that will be a toss up. It will also be interesting to see if Schettig makes her debut for the Notre Dame defense and what her impact will be. Good one on tap!

Yes, Aldave usually does take the draws but she’s coming off an injury so I’m not sure how many she’ll take. Perhaps Buchanan will fill in a little.

Any chance they had at that left with #51. Even if she stayed and remained healthy, they weren’t going to take down North Carolina.

This will be a very physical game that will likely be close through the half. I’ll be watching to see if ND is crisp in attacking the high pressure zone defense for Cuse. I think they will need to attack from the wings, dodge to pass and hit the secondary cutters, to be successful. On Defense, I will be watching whether ND chooses to switch liberally on the Cuse weave up top (what I would do) or try to stay with drivers. I go with Cuse because they have been a bit more tested at this point.

Mr. Donovan would be proud. Stated as fact, yet just one man's opinion and an unknown.

That’s right. And you might want to keep that in mind anytime you read my posts.

Looking forward to a great game. These two could meet again later in the year in the Final Four.

I hope both teams play a great game.

There’s a possibility they play 4 times this year. I wonder if that’s ever happened before—playing the same team 4 times in one season?

Makes you look like an arrogant fool, but okay, I'll keep it mind.
Mr. Donovan put out some bum skinny and you swallowed it hook, line, and sinker.
Jus' sayin'.

Big yawn. Do you really think you are going to change me with your browbeating, DMac? Does it work when people do it with you? I suggest you channel your energy to more constructive areas.

DMac, thanks for setting up the game-specific thread. Although short-lived, they help me track comments, and comment, on games, some of which I might miss (not. this. one.).

Still think Cuse takes both of these. Still think the defenses are both good and that Cuse's may be better. Still think Cuse holds it own in the circle. Still think Cuse has the better goalie. I've drunk the Orange cool-aid.

Of course the road goes thru UNC, but maybe the lose of Hawryschuk is a rallying call for Syracuse and they rise to the occasion.. playing ND twice this week will be a huge indicator of that.. 2 losses or split shoots down my theory

Oh no, I see you've established yourself as the resident expert about polls, good games, bad games, how to the list them, who will win and who will lose, oh, and about about English too. No facts or browbeating is going to change anything about any of that.
When I first started playing on the wlax side I was an obnoxious fool, knew nothing about wlax except that I didn't like it and that it was just an awful game (prior to rule changes). I was insensitive and said things I shouldn't have. Got a PM from a sweetheart of a gal who has a daughter who was an incredible player, was of the best ever (no longer playing college level...pros). Was actually pretty funny as it started out, "I hate to admit it but I like you" (for who knows why reason....I did try to be a little comical with my posts) and she went on to teach me a lesson about the people who hang out here and how what you say affects them as many of them have daughters who are playing. Went on to establish a long a very friendly relationship with that gal, I miss her these days. So yes, I do listen and will change my ways when I'm shown how wrong I am. Let me guess (not really a guess as I'm certain), you have no kids who play/played ball and have never listened to some obnoxious, know it all aszhole criticizing them, telling them their team got massacred and doesn't stand a chance of winning. There are several folks here who are emotionally invested as their kids are playing, you might want to keep that in mind. It's not not typical that one will learn lessons from another's mistakes, but try giving it a shot.

Could very well be. It’s going to be interesting to see how it all unfolds for the Orange this year.
