No, I actually watched the hearing. It was not threatening, certainly never dangerous to anyone. That's total BS. But, yes, protesters were arrested, both from inside the room and most outside.

And yes, I'll stand by the "right wing nut job" applying to the publisher of the video PragerU and to the former Professor at Vanderbilt, Carol Swain. She's a widely discredited academic, though she did indeed achieve national prominence in right wing circles and is undoubtedly a bright woman. She's also an Islamaphobe.

I don't take issue with the recitation of the history of the Democratic and Republican parties, and indeed applaud making sure students actually understand that history, but the partisan and false pivot toward the end of the propaganda piece was indeed drivel.

There's plenty of room for constructive critique of left-leaning policies and the modern Democratic Party without the BS aspect.

But that's the fever swamp.

BTW, I'm a lifelong Republican, though more in the moderate/conservative mold of my Senator growing up, Mac Mathias, or a little later, Jack Kemp, than finding common cause with the knuckleheads and haters who call themselves Republicans in the Trumpist era.

I watched and at no point was anyone actually concerned about danger, whether to adults or to children. Was it unpleasant? Absolutely. I'd have no problem if you'd merely suggested something like the mom decided that the girls had heard more than enough anger and criticism of their dad for one day. But it was never dangerous.
