If the Dutch say masks are idiotic, I’m of the mind to give them much more credence than lacrosse limo libs.
still boggles my mind a 14 million dollar grant is allowing a company to make 8-9 billion medical and 95 masks /year and they are not raining from the sky right now.

it looks like a number of those masks are doubled up!!!
I believe it’s a guarantee to purchase $14MM. This should provide enough of a return. There will also be other applications. Pre filtering for HVAC systems. Should be a money maker for some time.

so a fraction of 14 million.
if they could make 10 cents on their piece of the puzzle, that's 800 million dollars.
one cent and it's 80 million. for a 14 million dollar purchase order.not saying these guys don't know the market and risk and have limitations of capital. but if there was a time to bet on a home run, this could've been at least potentially gamed months ago. here's one guy that saw it in january. a patriot first, or at least how the story goes:

They don’t make the masks but rather the N95 medium that is used in the production of masks. The big manufacturers are 3M and Honeywell for instance. That’s where the money is. Company’s are provided an incentive to pursue this low margin business. If for some reason COVID goes away, you don’t want to be saddled with all the excess capacity. At least .gov if helping minimize that risk but guaranteeing a minimum order quantity. There should be enough of a market to make it worthwhile.

Wouldn't America be so amazingly better if we didn't have the fear porn peddlers from the Democratic Party kvetching on television all day about things they have no clue about, like masks?!

Here's a photo of a Holland restaurant June 1, normal people and families enjoying their beers and lunch with no masks; of course Holland basically has no Covid hysteria (unlike our liberal hysterics):

yes, that's why i mentioned one penny. i have used them as an example of the market that is out there and if you have the capability... an opportunity that comes in business once in a blue moon... unlimited demand for x amount of time.

x could be 8 months or years. hell, per the article and not surprising, our gov't and likely others are paying pentagon type rates to folks that have never even been in the industry! all profit! consumer and hospital and nursing home demand is unlimited.

any search on amazon that i could find... if you want one soon... takes you to china. china is pumping out masks like it's their job.

anyway... when are we gonna hear about the chemical washing stations again for reusable on disposable? that's the money shot i wanna see.

BTW, the project requires a $27MM investment. The .gov off take is key to justifying the investment....project should be cash flow positive in year one and cash on cash break even in about 4-5 years assuming ROBUST demand over and above what is expected to go to .gov and one of the key market participants.

It is almost comical how Petey is just always wrong about everything. He really has a gift!

FYI, masks have been compulsory on public transit in The Netherlands since June 1.

And masks will become mandatory in public spaces in Amsterdam and Rotterdam (the two largest Dutch cities) beginning August 5. Makes sense that the Dutch are backtracking on their mask position. Because their Covid cases are going up.

Dutch cities order wearing of virus masks:

https://medicalxpress.com/news/2020-07- ... masks.html

Face masks to be ‘compulsory’ in busy parts of Amsterdam, Rotterdam:

https://www.dutchnews.nl/news/2020/07/f ... rotterdam/

But feel free to take Petey's advice to buy gold and Gilead stock....
Boycott stupid. If you ignore the gator troll, eventually he'll just go back under his bridge.

I will read it but it likely due to those folks being at the bottom of the economic rung in many service jobs so these people are disproportionately exposed in urban clusters. Secondly poor diet and and overall health issues, which have a strong correlation with socio-economic position also creates another headwind. Let me see what stupid Fauci has to say.

EDIT: you know what else is 2.5x that of whites? The unemployment rate. That has been a persistent difference since 1972, I believe.
