British Pooch Pals have a meet up before their Land goes into lockdown:

Gotta side with the wife here, big dogs (too big) come with big problems. Gonna need a shovel rather than scooper too.
I'm bettin' they don't fetch or catch either...that's a big deal in my book.

Side with the wife? What is going I’m here.

I always think of the scooper issue with big dogs though as you point out. Have one left but had two foo foo dogs in NYC (one Lhasa Apso one Lhasa Poodle) who would drop rabbit turds and always would notice people with big dogs and these shovel like devices whereas I could avoid any real contact picking up the doo doo of mine.

But man I love the way those Tibetan Mastiff’s look.

Am a proud Lab owner. Love Mals but I don't think I could handle a dog that's smarter than me.

Nope, I wouldn't want to own one either, they require the kind of time you see invested in that video to do justice to the dog.
Incredibly smart, energetic, and athletic dogs. Experienced one up close and personal recently, military level trained (not exaggerating), dog was incredibly impressive, responded instantly to commands in four different languages. A little on the scary side too...very intimidating dogs.
Have come to be a real Lab lover since my youngest got one (not that I didn't like them before), he's about 15 mos now, super good dog. Fun dogs, the whole world is a toy and they just want to play and have fun. I think their tails wag more during their lives than not...real lovers too. Pretty tough to beat a Lab, very trainable as well. Oh, and you better have lots of tennis balls if you're gonna own a Lab.
You might enjoy this place...no negativity or politics, just fun Lab stuff.

Couldn't agree more. Five labs deep over 20 years, four rescues. #3 was a pedigree pup. Unbelievably smart, hell on wheels (in the best sense) until he turned 10. No matter how old they get, no other breed channels its inner puppy better.

Holy mackerel, this is a minor miracle, bordering on major. Figured out how to get this video on here which was a monstrous task for me. Here ya go, Oldbarndog, here's the Lab in action with the ball throwing machine. He'll toss that ball to you all day long like that. Getting him to "give it to the pitcher" has been a bit of a challenge, but he'll get it. If I hadn't run over the power chord with the lawn mower I'm sure he'd have it by now, gotta run another chord out into the yard.

^^ This got knocked down pretty quickly by the Obit thread, just wanted to give it a bump, think it's pretty funny.
Son's dog, great focus, keeps his eye on the ball, pretty good fielder (patience, he does get it to the pitcher).
