Premier Lacrosse League

Post by DD-Tech »

Any of you guys caught a game yet? I checked out the website and the teams.

Best I can describe it is a ménage à trois of the WWE, NBA, and Game of Thrones.

I heard that Brendan Burke (NY Islanders Play by Play man) is calling some of these games. The guy is a gem! Does a great job for the Isles. I may actually tune in to a game and check it out just to hear him!

Production quality of the game on tv looks great. Social media looks great.
Crowds in the stands and the "soccer" uniforms?
Not so much.

Finally caught a game. Whipsnakes vs Archers. Loved the coverage by Brendan Burke and Ryan Boyle. I listen to Burke call 80+ NHL games a year so it felt like home for me. So much better than watching Carc and the other two doing the college games. The camera angles and overall broadcast are great. Talent level is lights out. So ticked that I didn’t set the DVR for extra time. Was a great game that stretched to OT and I missed the final. I will definitely be back for more. Nice job PLL and hope this thing can survive and be around for a while. Can’t let the talent level get diluted.

Caught the second half of the Chrome/Atlas game and 100% agree with you DD-Tech - great entertaining game, super skill and a very enjoyable call by the announcers. Looking forward to next weekend's lineup.

Check out highlight #2 - blocked shot. WOW!!!

I DVRd Chrome vs Atlas and got to watch most of the game tonight. Both teamss were winless going in to the match and I have to say they both played a much sloppier game than the two undefeated Archers vs Whipsnakes that I saw the other day. All in all though I have enjoyed the two games I have seen so far. Glad you got to hear Bendan Burke call a game. He is a great NHL play by play man. Blocked shot was awesome!

Just want to add a comment on fighting in the PLL which is an active topic up top in the lax forums. I have not seen a fight yet or have gotten the impression that fighting is encouraged. Other than a highlight of a fight that one of my sons showed me on social media I have not really gotten the impression that they are promoting fights either. I have felt the teams have been pplaying real hard on the field. So far better than I had expected.

Never have been a fan of the pro game and prefer that the sport be kept pure. Just the same, I say good luck to the PLL.

While some of you were watching a game on Sunday, I watched MLR Championship: https://tinyurl.com/y5xwhcsb

Awesome game - check out these highlights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEEXUvFV2vw

I loved watching Major League Rugby this year. That final was incredible. A couple of the teams are entering into agreements with European clubs.
DC Old Glory will be in the league next year and I'll go to a few games for sure.

👍 May well have been the best game in any USA sport this year so far.
