Nassau high school sports postponed until 2021, out of 'abundance of caution and health and safety for our students'

Lacrosse is starting in mid April and Fall sports are starting now, no States but still playing a fairly full schedule

I watched 3 HS F.B. games this past weekend. These teams usually are in the mix for Top 20 consideration in National polls. The transition from F.B.to lacrosse should be interesting.

Both Massapequa and Garden City are involved in the FOOTBALL playoffs. Not sure how many Massapequa guys play both sports. Many G.C. chaps play both.

Looking forward to the return of lacrosse HS.

Manhasset won their first Nassau County Football Championship since 1996-1997. 8-0 and led by Aidan Muholland and crew. They open on 5/5 against Roslyn. They play GC at Warren King Field on 5/15/21 at 1PM. Can't wait!

Manhasset and GC are allowing fans. There were at least 200 or more fans at the Nassau County Conference III Football Championship this past Saturday at Manhasset. If I am not mistaken, most are allowing fans and not just parents of the athletes either as the new NYS guidelines allow for outdoor gatherings of 500 or more and that takes effect in the next 7-10 days, right now its 250.

Port Washington 11 Garden City 8 Final

WOW, don't remember the last time this happened, probably early 2000's. Manhasset gets Hewlett on the road at 3PM tomorrow. Woodstick Classic is on 5/15/21 at 1PM!

Judging by Newsday's 100 Top players on Long Island list which includes Section 11,Section 8 and the CHSAA, it'll be a down year for Garden City. Manhasset will be strong as will Syosset.

Surprised the GC-Port game took place in view of the tragic fire that killed 3 GC residents including an 18 year old senior.

Nonetheless congratulations to Port Washington on the win

Neither League 1 nor League 2 look as if they're accurate.Schools with large enrollments are scheduled to play schools with fewer students.Leagues were always determined by NYPSPHSAA enrollment figures.

Football schedules followed enrollment guidelines.Notice the post that referenced "200 folks attended the CONFERENCE III football championships". Wonder why the powers that be,changed the classifications for lacrosse? And the rosters on those sites are 1 or 2 years old.

Rules are temporarily "changed" because the schedules were made up when CV-19 restrictions were still very strict. Coaches have been quoted as saying if restrictions had lessened a bit earlier, you would have seen much more normal schedules like you are going going to see in 2022...

Manhasset 15 Garden City 8 at the end of 3 Quarters.

Indians look like one of the best teams in the country. And the strength of the team is their 2022 and 2023 classes. Joey Terenzi, Class of 2022 is the REAL deal. Top 3 player in the nation for his class, headed to UVA.

Update: Manhasset 19 GC 14 Final

Cascadden from GC had success in the 2nd half at the faceoff dot, that made the final a little closer. Manhasset in control all game long, their offense is unstoppable 95% of the time.

Too bad they can't have the full season experience, it's about time for another State Championship
