Good Afternoon... first time poster.
I'm a parent of a 2022 Dpole that wants to play competitive lax and get his engineering degree (at whatever level). With not being able to speak to coaches we are trying to put our school list together ahead of time.
What are some good competitive engineering schools that are out there?
Thank you in advance.
Colleges with good Engineering programs
Re: Colleges with good Engineering programs
If it is DI, Michigan, all Service Academies, Princeton, OSU, UMD and Duke.
If it is club lax, it is more wide open. RPI, GT, Caltech, VaTech, Tex A&M. Etc.
I don’t know enough about DII & DIII to answer.
I must say though, the better the engineering school the less lax time you will do. The better the lax program, the less time to study.
But I bet you knew that anyway.

Engineering is a pretty broad description. There are lots of schools that have specific engineering programs. Probably need to narrow that down a bit. Isn't Lehigh an engineering school? RIT, RPI, Clarkson, MIT, Stevens, Tufts, Drexel.
Re: Colleges with good Engineering programs
Delaware has one of the top chemical engineering programs for undergrads.
Re: Colleges with good Engineering programs
There are a bunch of other schools with Engineering and Lax: Ivy's, Syracuse, UMass, umass-lowell, Drexel, UVM, Penn State, Rutgers, Stoney Brook, Lafayette, Quinapiac (new), Manhattan, and Binghamton are all D-1. Many liberal arts schools have 3-2 programs as well.
Re: Colleges with good Engineering programs
Villanova has a highly ranked engineering school and very competitive D1 lacrosse program.

You need to try and gauge what their level of lacrosse will be at the collegiate level. You should be able to get a decent grasp by speaking to their club coach and then go from there.
