Roanoke 21

Post by Jakes »

Looks like another really young team. Interesting to note, several promising freshman from last year are not listed on the roster, among them; midfielders Jack callis and grant Webster, attack Braeden Allen and Cole Boggio. Sarro graduated, so it’s going to be tough to find scoring this year. Incoming freshman Kammerman’s father played for Noke and was very successful. The return of Owen Curry from an illness will spark the offense. Could be another season of growing pains in Salem. Hopefully, the youth gives us an optimistic look at the years ahead.

Not the stiffest of competition, but the freshman duo of Kammerman and Docking put up some points. Return of Curry who netted 3.

Roanoke is a very young group with a sophomore class that’s in many ways still like a group of freshman not having benefited from a full season. ODAC as a Conference needs Roanoke to be what they’ve been historically, a legit top 20 team or better. The traditionally top 4 teams need each other for tough competition and for consideration to the NCAA tournament. The lower ranked programs can recruit citing the opportunity to play against ranked teams year in and year out. With the growth of the sport I think the conference will continue to get stronger

Unfortunately in two season Averett will be added to the conference, so that's going to hurt, though it seems they have improved a bit from worst-in-the-country consideration.
