2022
https://smcmathletics.com/news/2022/2/1 ... rican.aspx

Jude Brown, 40 pts, 20g, 20a, 21 gb, 47 to

This team goes as far as #56 takes them. Needs to clean up his +/- ratio...the entire team averaged over 20 to's per game in '21. Not going to win a lot of games with that stat!

Im confused. How did St Marys end up in a new conference with a number of WNY colleges that are mostly commuter schools with the equivalent of JV athletic programs? Its not even a distance thing. Buffalo to St Marys is 8hrs by bus. Hilbert, Medille, Wells College...these games will be complete waste of time for most St Marys programs.

Had to move out of the CAC/C2C...that is now a "dummy" conference with only a few lacrosse schools left (SU, CNU, MWU). ODAC, Centennial, and Landmark turned them away. Only option was to be independent which the school (a state school did not want to do to their student-athletes). Sucks for all.

Thanks for the explanation, pretty screwy situation.

Am I correct that this is the remains of the former conference?

any intel why? Maybe no track and field, softball at the time?

Lots of these small conferences say in their bylaws that they won’t take state schools, only private. Hence why they had to go to their new conference with sim of the New York State universities. Lots of conferences make more geographic sense, but st Mary’s is a maryland state school so it really limits their options

Also why Salisbury, UMW and CNU are all odd men out before the C2C conference was formed. I assume it also was a factor in the frostburg state departure from D3/the CAC

That's really odd. Seems like they have enough teams to qualify. But I'm sure there's more ot the rule than that.

Just a shame. They have some talented players.

The NCAA almost always ends up making decisions like this that screw the kids.

Penn St. Harrisburg also left to the United East the year before. May have helped push their AD a little

So the United East Conference used to be the NEAC in 2001?
And the NEAC did NOT get an AQ?

Wonder why... This is all very odd.

It seems like the United East Conference makes almost as much sense as the C2C Conference. I would lump the UAA in there too but didn't due to the lack of lacrosse.
