Team shooting in order of W&L’s losses 25%, 20%, and 14% they couldn’t hit the ocean with a beach ball. Too many of the upperclassmen dropping their sticks and instead of changing planes shoot low. Players all alone with time on the door step failing to move the goalie and get stuffed, or within 5 yds just plain missing the cage. They all see this on the film just need to correct it. I have to believe Koch will pull the D together with time. It’s only about 25% of the games that have been played. Much of what’s transpired to date is within their own control and that’s the good news.

With the game tomorrow plus another contest before they take on Gettysburg and HSC maybe somethings get tighten up. Love to see a full 60 minutes where the Generals settle down and play a strong game defensively and offensively doing all the small things well. Maybe these two games help to build some confidence and it carries over to an upset win over Gettysburg. If they get hot in the goal along with Hodgson maybe going 70% they can piece together a nice quality win. The younger players perhaps come together at this point

Would love to see the Gennies in the Mustang Classic. Any chance that happens ?

Unfortunately not, from what I've heard the Mustang classic is during a break that all the attending schools share. Could be wrong though.

On a different note, a nice confidence boost for the Gennies who were up 18-1 at half against Guilford. Hopefully they can get a real win under their belts though with Gettysburg on Wednesday. They can't just keep demolishing bad teams if they want any shot of making it to later in May, they need a statement win under their belt. With Gettysburg recently beating York as well it would throw quite a spin in the rankings and give the guys a great confidence boost going forward.

A win against Gettysburg would be a big shot in the arm. While a w is nice a 20 goal win against Guilford isn't telling us much. They've had time to improve since F&M, lets see it on the field.

If the Bullets bring their A defensive game the Generals are going to have to work awfully hard to put 8 plus goals on the board. On the other hand I still don't like Gettysburg's offense, to slow and methodical and not enough quick ball movement. I'll take the Bullets 10-7. Good Luck tomorrow.

Big tilt today for the Generals. I'm expecting the offense to come out of their coffin and put up 14. I think the defense is much more experienced and can hold Gettysburg to under 11. Final 14-10 Generals!

Very good game, evenly matched teams, I really didn't see much of a differential. I hope that was not the last game of the season but with the ball rolling down hill I fear it might be.

Haven’t seen a team melt like that in years. Maybe I was wrong could use a steady presence on the back line, like Gifford (h/t!wheelandeal), from years past. The offense must have forgot the object was to score in the 4th. Hopefully, their will be a chance to rebound! Can see the season turning around!

disappointing ending but a hard fought game. This team starts and finishes slow, probably not surprising given their inexperience. As of last night the season is still on

Great game by the Generals despite the loss. Nice to see some of the players step up and take charge on the field. D showed some improvement I thought. They got out of the gate a little slow or this could have been a nice win. Most importantly they played hard all 4 qtr and almost came all the way back. Hope they get the chance to continue to play and improve. Even if ODAC conference play was to cease I’d think they’d continue to run practices and play intra squad games gearing up for next season. Can’t imagine how heartbroken the players would feel if that were to occur. Let’s hope it’s not !

Administration obviously made the right call. I honestly thought they jumped the gun, I couldn’t have been more wrong. I think I just was wishing that it wasn’t going to be that bad, but it is. Hopefully the returning players learn how fragile life can be and to make everyday count. Not easy to do when your 18-21 years of age

This might be heresy, but could they ever consider 'Washington & Lincoln'? They could keep the logo and get on the right side of history.....There are already other Washington Universities/Colleges

The contributions Lee made to the school after the Civil War is why he is part of the name.

Lee went to Lexington at the request of The Board of Trustees and assumed the Presidency of Washington College, which has 40 students and was near bankruptcy. He persuaded Cyrus McCormick, the inventor a the reaper and a local resident, to financially support the College. He founded the Journalism School, which is one of the best in the country. He established the foundation of The Honor System, one of the defining features of the University. He developed the school into a true liberal arts institution and recruited heavily in the North, which he felt was essential to reunification of the country.

He was an imperfect man, especially when judged by today's post hac standards, but he was no different that many men, in both the North and South, who felt their primarily allegiance was to their state, and also owned slaves.

Upon his death, the Trustees added his name of the school. Lee and his family are buried in Lee Chapel, which is a National Historic Landmark and where many student assemblies are held.

It is undisputed, even by those who wish to change the name, that without Lee's leadership, there would not be a Washington and Lee University today.

There is strong opposition to the proposed name change--Google The Generals Redoubt for some information on that.

As for adding Lincoln--he had no connection with the school at all.

Well said. Removing Lee's name from the University would be dishonorable and disloyal. However, the treatment accorded Mike Pressler gives cause for concern.

The President does not have any intestinal fortitude and PC has been running rampant in Lex for almost 3 years. I expect to hear later this month that all Fall sports are cancelled and the future of all others including lax, "are being reviewed..."

As a double degree alum, things are not good, IMHO.....
