... and for the first time since 1950, neither Kenyon nor Oberlin will have a losing season in football! (too soon?)
It's either a thoughtful comment or smartass sarcasm. Learn to recognize the difference.
Re: NCAC 2020
Kenyon does have a nationally ranked Men's Soccer program that would have been challenging OWU's great program for the NCAC title and a run in the D3 championship....lots of athletes have been training for their moment. Very sad.

Agreed completely. With a son whose undefeated and nationally ranked lacrosse team got shut down mid-season, I completely understand.

Re: NCAC 2020
Hmmm, Oberlin lacrosse has been around longer than Denison and OWU lacrosse, while academically Oberlin is an excellent school. Yet, whatever scant success Oberlin lax has had came long ago. Back on the old LaxPower NCAC board, it was said that Oberlin admissions gave no help to the lacrosse coach, and that the school's "crunchy granola" (my paraphrase) environment wasn't conducive to lacrosse. It will be interesting to see who is hired as Head Coach. The NCAC needs more schools challenging for the title; but the wait for those teams to emerge seems eternal.Matnum PI wrote: ↑Sat Dec 19, 2020 8:51 pm Oberlin coach... https://goyeo.com/news/2020/12/18/mens- ... -post.aspx

That I do not buy. Granola and lacrosse can live together in peace. Some would argue that lacrosse is a granola sport.

Re: NCAC 2020
I don't disagree with you; and I really don't know how "granola" Oberlin might be. It would be nice to see Oberlin hire as its Head Coach someone with experience at a NESCAC school that has both top academics and high quality lacrosse, say Amherst or Williams.

Has anyone in the NCAC posted schedules or announced plans for the Spring?

Re: NCAC 2020
Oberlin hasn't been competitive in lacrosse in fifty years....don't expect them to hire an experienced coach or spend any money to upgrade their program. Not being snarky, just realistic.
Re: NCAC 2020
You might well be right, OldWU. However, I do find it interesting that Oberlin's 2020 schedule included a game against York College at the US Lacrosse Center in Maryland (never played due to Covid); almost like the school was starting to give the team the travel budget it needed to become competitive. Plus, early results in 2020 looked promising, at least by the modest expectations typical for Oberlin men's lacrosse. https://goyeo.com/sports/mens-lacrosse/schedule/2020
In any case, it should be interesting to see what kind of hire is made for the Head Coach.
