Not a single CAA player makes top 40 incoming attack man IL list.

But it actually looks like some good attack men are incoming and at least one or more could have made the listing, as with the new shot clock, you’d think the coaches in this league would emphasize offense.
No matter.

Here are a few good ones, it would seem.

*Jackson Cummings, UMass actually was rated by IL, from McDonough and Baltimore Crabs, was a Lafayette commit
* Logan Zimnoch, Towson also rated by IL, Saint Paul’s and Baltimore Breakers, named to one of the Under Armour teams
* Nick Williams, Hofstra, Conifer CO, also a Denver elite, 151 goals in high school
* Jack Mulcahy, Drexel, Downingtown East, All SEPA 1st team, 157 goals in HS

Yup - LP is back in action.

Only somewhat followed that action. IL uses this format for grading underclassmen, so it seems sometimes you get the best players, sometimes you don’t.

This is the link I found for Epoch 2018.

https://www.insidelacrosse.com/league/ilri/teams/18

One guy I really liked from that Epoch series of tournaments.
Austin Sipes, uncommitted, out of York PA and now at Westminster MD.
Hope the CAA teams go after Sipes.

Drexel first to post schedule.
For those who follow this sort of thing.
UVA not on schedule, 1st time in 17 years.

Not a top ten schedule, but strong enough strength of schedule to not hurt the other CAA teams. The key as always, win OOC games.

Dylan Pallonetti, who has thus far honored his commitment to UMass.
Listed as an Inside Lacrosse top 100 Senior recruit, actually a top 10, five-star recruit.

The CAA gets so few of these type of recruits that it is worth noting.

Maybe a uptick in recruiting ?

I noted also, Towson, Hofstra and Delaware with 4 star recruits, assuming of course these ranking systems are to be believed, for 2019.

Inside Lacrosse recruit database, searchable, at least someone has picked up where Laxpower left off.
Also, Laxpower gets a Wiki (yes Wiki is the worst for many things) entry.

Although, technically Grant Jr was America East, not CAA.

Heard that Fairfield had 11 players quit or leave the program in the fall. Anyone heard anything going on up there. Was the first I had heard.

Fairfield picks up 3/4 star recruit, 2020.

A de-commit from Penn State.
So, a good pick up, attackman.

Inside Lacrosse preview issue predicts the CAA in this order (overall rankings):

1. UMass (20)
2. Towson (26)
3. Hofstra (34)
4. Delaware (42)
5. Drexel (48)
6. Fairfield (52)

Inside Lacrosse has never done a good job of predicting the CAA conference. The summaries of nearly every team in the conference is a nothing but a cursory overview of what happened last year. Maybe they read what people write here or formerly on laxpower and simply repeat what they read? They certainly don't do the research, and who can blame them. They don't have enough reporters to really complete a deep-dive into the CAA. I’m sure they don’t research the NEC, MAAC or Southern conference either.

In this year's issue they mentioned that Delaware's midfield would be led by Dean DiSimone, Jackson Finigan and Josh Barrow. They don't even mention Bryce Reid who scored 20 goals last year as a sophomore midfielder. No offense to Josh Barrow and Jackson Finigan, but Barrow is a senior who has barely played in three years and has never scored a single goal in his career and Jackson Finigan is coming off two knee surgeries and a season where he contributed 3 goals on 22 shots. Delaware is a senior-laden team that has lost one player from last year's team third-place team in the CAA (that lost to Towson in OT and to UMass by a single goal). No mention of this in the review.

I think they probably have the top four teams correct, but maybe not in that order. UMass will be tough.

Thankfully, not quite all we've got... there was some top-notch analysis on LaxPower boards and some appears to have carried over to here. I don't follow the CAA (or any of its teams) closely, but based on a few games I've seen have felt that Fairfield is not well-coached: on the day, looked capable of beating anyone, but also had some bad days and head-scratchingly poor performances, so it doesn't surprise me to see the Stags picked for last. By contrast, Towson strikes me as a well-coached program; I'll be interested to see if the Tigers can bounce back and have a strong 2019 season.

Agree with Henpecked. Inside Lacrosse is much more interested in covering their own events and hyping the next great 16 year olds. I can't blame them for that because you really can't make it as a publication for a niche sport with low circulation. However how hard is it to call a few coaches in any league and get the real story? It must be harder than I realize or they would do it. Anyway, we don't have many options, although I like Collegecrosse.com.
