Baxter should be a step in the right direction. What the article doesn't mention is that the 2021 edition of Fairfield (well, if there is a 2021 season, of course) will provide an interesting chance to gauge how some Division 3 players stack up in D1. Matthew Chlastawa (is it possible to pronounce that last name without sounding drunk?) was a 2019 second-team All American attackman, Bates' all-time leading scorer in spite of not getting a fourth year there. Defenseman Tyler Burns was an Honorable Mention D3 All American at Saint Lawrence.

Baxter's future success will be dependent on fixing a truly terrible defense. Captain Obvious would state that it is impossible to win when you give up 15-16 goals a game.

Hoping that Beckwith is back at Fairfield. He is a lot of fun to watch.

CAA has a ton of 5th year guys back that will make a big difference (Trainor, Philpott, Kitchen, Shaw, Hervada,Tierney, Altmann, Wentz, Bowering, Varian (6th year), Mailman, Koita, Beckwith, Patti, Canto and more). Drexel is loaded offensively and UMass brings back the whole team that beat Yale last year. Delaware loses some important middies and a pretty awesome goalie but return really talented and young attack and defensive units. Hofstra is bringing back a ton of talent and some transfers (Concannon) to hook up with Tierney. I see those four teams battling it out for supremacy. Of course, with every team making the CAA tourney this year, it will come down to who is healthy and who is hot in May.

I would think Fairfield will need a couple of years to rebuild a respectable defense. Don't know what to say about Towson. They were really bad last year. Not sure what to expect in 2021. Hopefully, we will get to see some lacrosse this spring.

Altmann is on the roster,
Wenz went to OSU.

Anyway, can’t speak for other conferences, but
the schools in this conference all look stacked.

Great retrospective on Tigers 1989 team,
this highlights their regular season ending upset
over Hopkins, which got them into the 1989
tournament, earlier in the year the Tigers had lost a close game to the Gait Syracuse team.

Wow !

Reid Bowering goes second in the NLL draft.

The highest CAAer since Josh Byrne.

Jackson Suboch, goes in the 1st round to the
Wings where he will team with fellow CAAer
Ben McIntosh.

Charlie Kitchen went much higher than expected,
number 24, to New England.

I’m assuming this is UMass Hall of Famer Sal LoCascio’s
kid, or relation at least,

if so, great 2022 recruit,

37. Jeff Trainor, M, UMass
Trainor might be the most unheralded guy on this list, but that was going to change before 2020 shut down. He’s a party-starter and was arguably the catalyst for UMass’ successful 2020. He’s back for another year, along with many of the Minutemen. And, he’ll gladly hop back and play defense or do some dirty work along with his production.
Trainor listed as number 37 top college player

Its the off season,
so a lot of lacrosse nonsense floating around.

Still, IL came out with a best of, the top NLL
champions over the years, the 2015 Edmonton Rush listed
as one of the best, CAAers Adrian Sorichetti, Ben
McIntosh and Robert Church key players on that
NLL title team.
2. 2015 Edmonton Rush

Record: 13-5 (1W, 2O); 13.4GF; 9.8GA
Road to championship:
Beat Calgary 10-8, 9-12, 4-1
Beat Toronto 15-9, 11-10
Finals MVP: Mark Matthews
Goalie: Aaron Bold
Coach: Derek Keenan

Nothing at all,
only what they said before,
the CAA plan is all teams play in the season
ending tournament.

And I’m guessing, only local play for out of
conference, no long distance games so schools
like Denver, Ohio State are out, play to begin in
March, also UMass will have some problems with
scheduling since for many a trip to UMass would
be an over-nighter.

Finn Halladay, a 2021 Claremont BC graduate,
to Drexel - yet another Canadian with a
box lacrosse background, a 3 to 4 star recruit out
of British Columbia, played on the same select box
team as Hopkins 2022 recruit, Alec Billings,

plays a similar game to Marshall King,
