Great road win to start the year and very solid start by Bobby Casey with 14 saves. Lehigh was without their top scorer due to suspension, but still to hold the 13th-ranked team to three goals is very impressive. Hopefully offense can show some more life against Utah Saturday.

After a close game at Villanova on Saturday, Hofstra hosts Stony Brook tonight at 7:00. I did not see the Villanova game, but the Wildcats' goal with 0:01 left in the first half looked like the killer.

Tough day for the Dutch vs. G'town. Could not get into an offensive rhythm, except for the second period. Hoping a full week of practice yields better results next week vs. another tough opponent, Ohio State.

A down season, but a very stout effort against a strong Towson squad on their field.

Agree. Towson was gift-wrapping the game to Hofstra in the first half, but then went on a 5-0 run in Q3 after the shot-clock penalty.

A program reduced to moral victories.

Thank you Seth Tierney!

Great game by Tierney obviously.
Beat UMass almost single handedly.
I say almost, as hyperbole.
Tierney is a top top player.

Great, entertaining game! It had an almost old school feel. it was physical and the crowd was alive. Beautiful day at the Shu. UMASS fans in abundance. Hofstra lax alumni in full throated heckle mode from the SE stands! Hofstra showed some real grit. Fun day.

Ladies and gentleman , welcome to the CAA , the league where hearts are broken and heroes are made . After years of torment by the minutemen , some payback was in order , a great gift to the attending alumni. Great job by the coaches , we were prepared . This Umass team is the real deal , if they get into the ncaas they can make noise. Game balls for me , goalie , defensive middies(just outstanding) , faceoff middie , and obviously RT those shots were no cheapies . And that 3 min penalty for a hit to the head , that one will stay in the turnpike memory bank , just sayin

I don’t know what Paparo was thinking.
A real bonehead play by a senior.
Hopefully, no permanent damage to a real good player, this league could use more midfielders like that one.

Heartbreak League, that should be trademarked.

The play I liked.
Ball on the ground, Tierney checked two UMass defender sticks, spun, one handed pickup of the ground ball, another spin, a flick of the wrist bullet shot, beats Sconone, off the post, and then I think it was Riley Forte picks up the ground ball, fires it past Sconone to tie the game.

Paparo hit Ardrey high.
A hit that might have been ok, or maybe just a minute penalty a couple years ago.
Led with the shoulder, but still high enough to knock Ardrey’s helmet off, and Ardrey also banged his head off the ground.
Hope the kid is ok.

Dutch have beat Lehigh, beat UMass of course, had Villanova beat, came up just short against Stony Brook and Providence, had a real chance to tie that game against Towson.

They’re breaking in a lot of underclassman.
Casey had his best game of the year against UMass.
