Ty Xanders reported a couple days ago that Patrick Karey was also returning. We lost a D starter in Salvatore, but lots of competition for that spot including incoming Jack Follows. I did briefly see Karey playing with a short stick in the abbreviated season and thought he looked good. We certainly need help at ssdm.

another fan - yes, Karey played as a short stick (2nd rotation) in the game vs. Penn State. I thought he played well and showed speed that I had not previously seen from him. Given that only one shortie (Bardwell) returns with any game experience (Blake saw no more than a few "undistinguished" cameos; I also assume he's destined for an offensive middie role), Karey would be a welcome addition.

Sam Duggan and alum Jake Pulver sign with PLL and both will play for Chrome.

Buczek was not on an "excused inactive list" and seem to be playing on "PLL island" from July 25th to August 9th

Two of our 2021 recruits have apparently switched to JHU: Chris Wong and Jack Charbonneau. Both play attack, and that leaves the class without attack recruits. Realistically, it was going to be awhile before either saw extensive time-- with Michael Long 2 years ahead and CJ Kirst and Rory Graham 1 year ahead. However, we do need to recruit at that position now. It's hard to tell without the 2021s playing this year, but that class, even without the defections, did not look to be as strong as the prior two years. There are some very good poles in that group, though-- if their commitments are solid. For those who listened to the Town Hall zoom awhile ago, we heard the coaches say that all 2020s and 2021s had affirmed their commitments, so these switches must have been something of a surprise, and they confirm Milliman's strength as a recruiter.

On the plus side, a very good goalie from Florida, Wyatt Knust, has joined the 2021 class.

Both have box backgrounds, and one is Canadian. Maybe Mike French should lob in a call.

Seriously, I do hope the poaching discussions are staying positive.

I especially liked Wong-- very good passer and slick finisher. I liked that Charbonneau was from western Canada (playing at a VA Prep)-- our very good Canadian pipeline has been primarily from the Toronto area.

Good point. Arguably, the greater Vancouver area has a deeper talent pool, but the Hill Academy in Eastern Canada is a magnet for some of the country's most eligible university recruits.

Just don’t come back sniffing around our boy Zach Delaney. You lost your shot with him, don’t be coming back around Geneva for him!

The NLL will draft college seniors even if they return for a fifth year.

Mostly likely meaning that Teat will play on Long Island in the future

Not a big surprise, but Cornell is elevating Paolo Ciferri to their full-time assistant role per Chris Jast: https://twitter.com/Chris_Jast/status/1 ... 5904133120

Some recruiting news:

As we know, two 2021 recruits followed PM to Hopkins. Brian Jackman is now listed as a 2021 recruit rather than 2022. And another nice pick up for 2021: Chris Cappelmann M St. Anthony's, faces off but not just a fogo. Runs well, good size, shoots with both hands. Previously committed to Navy

Nice to be getting recruits from Chaminade and St. Anthony's. Still need attack recruit in that class, although this kid has also played some attack

It's hard to think about 2021 recruiting with so much going on, but it's a decent distraction.
