Any idea if High Point is having any fall scrimmages?

High Point has 17 incoming recruits for 2019-2020.

I’ll be interested to see how this recruit fits in.
Tyler Hendrycks, 6’4” 230 lbs, out of Canada.

Interesting schedule!

Adding Maryland and Cornell while dropping St.Johns.
Also still keeping Duke and Virginia.

Can make upsets this year too? Is this enough to make a at-lagre bid if they lose the SoCon? How many games could they afford to lose?

October 26th vs Marquette, should be a good scrimmage.

I think this is a heck of a schedule and what is needed to get into the NCAA Tourney if you don't win the Conference Tourney. You have to have strength of schedule to improve RPI... And it doesn't hurt for recruiting either. Great move by HPU.

Gutsy schedule, but HP needs to win a couple of those high profile games to still have a path to the big dance absent winning the SoCon. Nolting is a stud, and showcasing him against top talent should be a win in itself.

Great schedule. Will certainly help in preparing for SoCon games and in recruiting. As to NCAA bid, going 3 and 0 against Maryland, Duke and UVA and they’d obviously get an at-large bid if didn’t win SoCon championship. Go 2 and 1 against big three and 1 other loss during the season, would still get an at large bid if lost SoCon championship. Go 2 and 1 and then 2 losses during the season, start to become bubble (bubble + if quality losses, bubble minus if poor losses). Go 1 and 2 against big three, might be able to afford 1 other regular season loss and still be bubble-in if lose SoCon championship. Go 0 and 3 against big three, only path to NCAA is winning SoCon.

Scrimmage against Marquette today. Played 5 quarters. I think it was 15-12 HPU.
Marquette lead early 7-2 and then High Point came back.
Always hard to gauge anything out of these because of injuries or working out new systems.
Freshman Tyler Hendrycks had 3 goals
