Re: A team on the rise versus a team in decline...

Made my way out to Chantilly to see the Washington & Lee Generals this year. It was 2-2 with 18 left and I was thinking this was going to be a good game and then it wasn't as the Gens went off and it was 11-5 at the half. I was shocked at the squad sizes as the Purple had five substitutes and the Gens had 15...FIFTEEN! Not sure if some girls quit after the coaching change debacle last year. This is a former State Champion just 10 years ago and the Blonde Ambition Tour time had a design on Concorde if not supremacy at least being competitive only a few years ago. It was tough watching the Purple struggle as I remember their Big Three Team in Fallball just smashing my team. Tonight it ended 18-8 and I haven't seen many teams so underclassmen heavy as the Gens who only had one Senior starter & 16 Sophs & Frosh. If I had to bet on the Chargers beating W&L in the next three years I'd say no chance with the imbalance in talent and depth.

I heard Oakton 20-0 over Stonewall Jackson with 11 minutes left...I think we can count on the date with the Saxons.

glax good to have you on the board was this a prediction or did you leave early as I believe the final score on the scoreboard was 20-6. As your 6 months of research and deep case study of the Hornets definitely proves it was not much of a season for the Hornets. As glax said the Madhawks were making a point as with a 11 goal lead and a running clock they had their prize recruit...I mean freshman get knocked out of the game with a head injury.

Madison dominated the draw circle plain and simple. Very tough afternoon for the Hornets.

Boys... if you are going to predict games, at least do it the correct, Vegas way.. Point spreads work like this. In order for the game to be seen as even, Madison has to spot Herndon 9 goals. If you think Herndon will cover the spread, and lose by less than 9 goals, you say, Herndon +9.
If you think Madison will cover, and win by more than 9 goals, well, see below

Madison -9. Herndon

That's all.

Good point. But it's not just in Vegss, its everywhere. Given Virginny. Lighten up! Just having some fun.

But, since I am at it, this is HIGH SCHOOL girls lacrosse, not a professional lacrosse league. The abuse that your team parents put on your coach this year is disgusting and shameful.

That is all.

What are you talking about? The virginny comment, like yours, was an attempt at light humor :)

I'm not sure what you are talking about regarding a coach? I haven't seen any abuse...I come to the games, film my daughter, cheer on the team and leave....I don't have the mental or emotional energy to worry about a high school coach or Girl's lacrosse for that matter. I like our coach.

Do you care to explain your comment? Sure seems to be vitriolic...

Why do you feel the need to knock down the accomplishments of teenage girls?

Hornets set a program record with 12 wins. Only losses coming to what may end up as the top two public teams in the state when it's all said and done. 3-3 against the 6D semi-finalists. That's a solid season for program that's not been anywhere near this level previously.
