...tonight.
Cathy Nelson Reese, Head Coach of the University of Maryland Women’s Lacrosse Team (and former player), is being inducted into the University Hall of Fame, November 2, 2018.
TL will be there, of course, to help the celebration along. Pre-game festivities commence at 4p so the event will surely be fun!
Pix will be posted if TL’s skills permit.
Peace, out.

‘New’ venues and Terp schedules.
Check umterps.com for the 2019 schedule for TL’s Laxchix.
You will note ‘TBD’ for certain games. This means it will very likely be a doubleheader with the boys’ team. Yes, you read correctly...and those games will be contested at Maryland (formerly Byrd) Stadium.
In fact, there will be NO games at the lax and field hockey complex. Field is being replaced...and TL hopes the planned rehabilitation of the entire complex will commence, too. The full schedule may be played at Maryland Stadium with the possibility Ludwig Field (soccer stadium) will be used as well.
Hope this is useful info...
Peace, out.

In case you somehow...
...missed this, Coach Cathy Reese is now the all-time WINNINGEST COACH in the history of your University of Maryland Terrapins Women’s Lacrosse program.
A most important achievement given Coach Cindy Timchal’s accomplishments.
Coach Cindy posted a terrific tribute to Coach Cathy.
Go Terps!
Peace, out.

Re: In case you somehow...
Congrats to Coach Reese! What is most impressive to me is the respect she seems to have within the coaching community. She is truly a class act and is a wonderful role model for her players and for all young women. As an outsider looking in, I am always impressed with her interviews. She is quick to give praise to other teams and coaches, when she does lose she does so with grace and class. Her current and former players seem to love her. She is truly an impressive woman! While I am not a fan of the Terps, I have nothing but respect for the way they play on the field, and the way they conduct themselves off the field. Clearly, Coach Reese is largely responsible for their past and current success. TL you should feel very fortunate to have CR leading your beloved Terps!

And the Honda Award goes to...
...Megan Taylor of your University of Maryland Terrapins.
Ms Taylor will be joined by the Award winners from the other intercollegiate sports in Los Angeles next Monday night. The Honda Award ceremony will be televised.
TL is obviously a member of Turtle Nation and perhaps a bit biased, but this very prestigious honor is well deserved.
That said, legions of diminutive young ladies who are fearless defenders are just as thrilled as is TL.
Peace, out.

I like a Jersey kid as much as the next former Jersey resident. But I always thought Mercer drew the hardest assignment, carried the ball a little better, and was better in transition. Two terrific players.

I’m really not sure how you pick one over the other. Both players were fantastic.

Can't imagine the Terps ever wearing shorts...
