First DRAFT of the rules...
First round games: 2 points for selecting the WINNER.
Second round: 3 points for the W; 5 points if you select a ‘dog’ who wins.
Quarterfinals: 5 for the W; 8 for a winning ‘dog.’
Semifinals: 7 for the W; 10 for a ‘dog.’
Natty ‘Ship: 20 points for the W.
Does this make sense? Drawing upon memories from previous contests and given TL cannot recall what TL had for breakfast, it may not.
Picks MUST be in NLT 0800 the day of a given game. Picks MUST be posted in this thread and the time will be the ‘thread time.’ (Forum uses Central Daylight Time.) No DQ’s for untimely selections but any late selections will not be credited.
TL welcomes any suggested amendments to these proposed rules. Just post your ideas right here.
What say all?
Peace, out.

The Only Contest That Matters (TOCTM)
Re: The Only Contest That Matters (TOCTM)
Are you including tomorrow’s 2 play-in games?
Just to clarify, we get to pick each round? We don’t have to submit a whole bracket?

NOT including the play in games!
Play in games NOT part of TOCTM due to time constraints.
Good question re: timing of picks. Do not need to select the entire bracket. Selections to be made one round at a time.
Cool?
Peace, out.
TL
Note: THIS JUST IN! Larry has submitted his entire bracket. Stony Brook Tech and nu to the Natty ‘Ship game where Larry will anoint them Co-Champions!

So you’re allowing mock bracket submissions too?Turtles Lax wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2019 8:01 am

It doesn't matter since they don't count, but I'm gonna take a crack at the play-ins anyway.
Jacksonville over Mercer: I think the Dolphins match up better in this one. Plus, it'll make Ashtyn Hiron (and therefore DMac) happy. I thought she did a good job with covering SU games this year.
Wagner over Fairfield: I watched the NET final this weekend and the Seahawks are a gutsy team. I think Coach Tumolo (yes, that Michelle Tumolo) will have them ready to face the Stags.

‘Dogs
TL should have made this clearer.
‘Dogs are any team playing against a SEEDED team if not seeded themselves.
‘Dogs are also the lower (higher numerically) seeded team when 2 seeds are playing. e.g. a 7 would be a ‘dog versus a 2.
Hope that is okay...and it will make it easier, hopefully, than looking up RPI.
Thus no ‘dogs in the first round and bonus points in the first round.
wlaxnut, feel free to revise your picks if you choose.
Cool?
Peace, out.
TL
Note: TL is on the road and won’t see the thread again ‘til 7p EDT or thereabouts.

Re: The Only Contest That Matters (TOCTM)
I think both home teams win today: so Jacksonville and Fairfield. Get the rest of the proper first round in tomorrow.
