Moravian is going to be looking good this season. Scheduled some tough games, which may put them in a position to excel in the conference. Combine that with their first season in recent years with a senior leadership group; they can be a contender if they can keep everyone on the field.

Moravian impressed me for sure last year....played really hard and put a tremendous amount of pressure on defenses! Best of luck to them

Didn't Catholic win this conference a few years ago? How have they fallen so far so fast?
Is Scranton going to really challenge E-Town this spring?
Is Drew starting to turn things back in a positive direction yet?
Just some questions from an outsider looking in at a Conference I don't know much about.

Yes Catholic won in 2016 and was runner up in 2017. Very disappointing 2018 and lost their top do-it-all threat as well.

Scranton was that good last year yes....

Drew has a long way to go.

I've been a little disappointed in the activity on the Landmark forum so I thought I'd keep everyone updated.

Catholic beat Goucher yesterday 16-7. They are currently 4-0 on conference with Scranton and Susquehanna left to play in conference. They end their regular season against Elmira.

Scranton beat Drew yesterday 14-5. They are 3-0 in conference right now with a tough end of the year schedule with Catholic, E-town, and Moravian still to play.

Elizabethtown beat Moravian yesterday 13-11. This was a very interesting game that could have ended with a much more mismatched score. E-town was winnin 13-5 at one point before Moravian put up 6 unanswered goals in the 4th quarter to make it close at the end. Moravian had the opportunity to come all the way back to win if it weren't for some sloppy clearing and ball handling in the middle third of the field.

Right now the standings are as follows:

#1 Seed (tied): Catholic 4-0 w/ Scranton & Susquehanna left to play in conference. End their season w/ Elmira.
#1 Seed (tied): Scranton 3-0 w/ Catholic, E-town & Moravian left to play.
#3 seed (tied): E-town 2-1 w/ Drew, Scranton & Susquehanna left to play in Conference. They also play York before their game against Susquehanna.
#3 seed (tied): Susquehanna 2-1 w/ Goucher, Catholic & E-town left to play.
#5 seed: Moravian 1-3 w/ Drew & Scranton left to play in conference. They play Cabrini this weekend.
#6 seed (tied): Drew 0-3 w/ E-town, Moravian & Goucher left to play.
#6 seed (tied): Goucher 0-4 w/ Susquehanna & Drew left to play in conference. They also play Immaculata.

As usual, the Landmark is anyone's conference this late in the year, with Catholic, Scranton, E-town and Susquehanna making their playoff pushes. With some very important games coming up between the current top 4 seeds, we will know who and where the Landmark playoff games will be played in the next couple of weeks. Here are my predictions for how the standings will end up.

#1 Seed: Scranton 6-0
#2 Seed: Catholic 5-1
#3 Seed: E-town 4-2
#4 Seed: Susquehanna 3-3
#5 Seed: Moravian 2-4
#6 Seed: Drew 1-5
#7 Seed: Goucher 0-6

Let me know what you guys think about my predictions and if you have them any different!

I couldn't agree more with Crusader. I don't think anyone can touch Scranton this year. E'town as usual will be there in the finals. Catholic has rebounded from a down year last year and in my opinion have the best young team moving forward. Susquehanna will ride the Abplanalp train until he graduates, but not much else there.
Predictions for conference:
Round 1
Scranton 18 Susquehanna 7
E'town 10 Catholic 9
Final
Scranton 15 E'town 12.

With all of the conference realignment going on, what is the future of the Landmark Conference?
Catholic to CAC?
Susquehanna to Centennial?
E’town to CAC?
Moravian to Centennial?
Goucher to CAC?
Drew to CSAC?
Scranton to E8?
Or does Landmark add teams???

I'm always a little hesitant with landmark teams to make any predictions before the regular season is over, but I think I have made a good prediction for the seeding, but I can also imagine a situation where two or more teams end up at 4-2, with a tie breaker needed to separate the 2-4 seeds.

Scranton: has the best offense, and the most offensive threats on the field. They are consistently putting up the most points, and they are doing it against all of their opponents. I also think they have some good talent on defense which is allowing them to get those 1 or 2 important stops a game.

Catholic: Has been playing well all year, despite some tough losses. However, this is the time of year when you want to be heating up not cooling down. Where has their offense gone? They will need to re-calibrate things before the playoffs if they want to be the first landmark team to three championships.

E-town: This is an interesting year for E-town. They clearly have some talent, but they don't have loads more talent then other teams in the landmark, like they have had in years past. Catholic has had their number for awhile, so losing that game isn't as surprising at it may seem. Really, it's how they hold up in their next two games against Scranton and Susquehanna that will determine where they end up being seeded.

Susquehanna: This is an interesting team. They have (probably) the two most talented players in the conference at their positions - With the reigning 1st team all-conference and all-region goalie in Abplanalp, and last year's rookie of the year, Dick, at attack. Both of these players are leading or at the top of the conference in their statistical categories. The question for this team is do they have enough support around them to get it done?

We will have more and more answers to these questions at the end of each week!

As far as the Landmark Conference and conference realignment go, I think that some of what you've said sounds really interesting. I think Drew may be looking to leave the conference soon. It's been awhile since they've had any real success in the landmark. Susquehanna and the centennial seem like a natural fit for a number of reasons, but I don't think they have any wish to leave the landmark either. Catholic and Etown both won't want to go to the CAC, they will have to contend with Salisbury every year to get into the NCAAs. Why do that when those two teams have won the last 4 championships in the landmark and can get national attentions through NCAA games. Goucher, idk about Goucher. Something needs to shake the Gophers up, maybe leaving the conference is the right move. But where would they go that would give them a better shot?

Scranton to the Empire 8. This one really intrigued me. There are a lot of great schools in the E8, but I think Scranton could be an upper-middle class team in the E8, surprising some people right off the bat. They'd likely have a good chance at playoffs, but ultimately wouldn't win the championship. Still, I think they stay in the LC, where they know their enemies the best, and where they think they have the best shot at a NCAA bid.

Still, I think the real answer is for the Landmark Conference to try and lure one (possibly two) solid DIII programs back into the fold to make things a little more interesting. Idk who exactly would be the perfect fit, but some teams that come to mind for me are Muhlenburg, Messiah, or possiblly a Misericordia. Strong programs that will up the profile of the conference, but wouldn't leave the conference feeling like only one team has a realistic chance at the title.

Just my thoughts! Great to have some feedback from Suskypride, hopefully we keep having interesting debates until the end of the season!

So a bit different than some posters predicted. River hawks have plenty besides Dick. Jack Donnelly is right there at the top of the offensive leaders and the defense is plenary stout... don’t sleep on SU.

Conference playoff seed prediction:
1. E’town
2. Scranton
3. Susquehanna
4. Catholic
Player of the year:
Offense: Dolan, Scranton
Defense: Abplanalp, Susquehanna
Specialist: Klippel, E’town
Coaching staff: Scranton
Semis- Etown 9 Catholic 8
Scranton 12 Susquehanna 10
Finals- E’town 14 Scranton 11
I’m looking forward to another exciting Landmark tournament. Arguably the most competitive conference in D3 top to bottom. The lacrosse is ugly at times but every game is filled with excitement.

The coaches in the Landmark Conference should be ashamed of their all conference picks and player of the year picks..........the right athletes were not selected. Politics and ego at its best!

Who do you think was snubbed from the All-conference teams and player of the year votes?

I agree. If not him, Dick. Blame Moan not politics, coaches have to “lobby” for players.

I don’t blame Moan on this one. Stats should speak for themselves..... this was straight politics and ego!

There was no lack of lobby here...at all....this is just a bad look for the league to ignore great players. Total saves and save percentage were not even close.
