From the previous game box score - Stone took a 5-1 lead after one and never looked back...6-3 in the second was as close as Indy got, as the Saints pushed the lead to as much as 8 (11-3). Indy chopped away at the lead getting it to 4 (14-10) at 9:46 in the 4th quarter, before the Saints scored 3 in a row to put it out of reach...

Saints outshot the Greyhounds 53-37 (and in all quarters except the 3rd), and SOGs were 31-22 (although exactly even at 7 for each team in each of the last two quarters). TOs almost even (Stone had 1 extra for 15). Stone perfect on clears, but Indy was 15-21. GBs advantage to the Saints 45-28, and the Saints won 21/33 FOs (Kirsch-Downs 12/16, Parrott 9/16). No EMOs were successfull (LC 2, UI 1 opportunity).

Individually, for the Greyhounds: Kump (2, 0), M. Johnson (1, 2), P. Johnson (2, 0), J. Johnson (2, 0), K. Basch (1, 1). For the Saints: Huyghue (4, 0), Sundown (3, 7), Bennett (0,3), Burns (2, 2), Moseman (2, 0), Papa (3, 0). In goal, Kimble 18 GA, 13 saves. Forren 11 GA, 10 saves (Ketchum 1 save).

Defensively, Saints have not let in more than 11 goals since 3/16 when they faced Seton Hill, and were outscored 5-2 in the 4th quarter (going from 13-9 to 15-14). This was the only game Limestone let in more than 11.

So the Hounds need to figure out a way to stop the Limestone O (note that Clark Walter did not score in the previous matchup), and find a way to get a few more goals on the Limestone D. The fact they found a way to overcome the Abbey in the quarterfinal game shows they have it in them if they can find that last bit...

Weather Forecast for Sunday is 86 degrees and 55% humidity. I believe that would be an advantage to Limestone as their depth seems to be a little deeper than uIndy.

I think UIndy only had 28 players dressed for the Queens game. Of course, if it's the right 28, then that's all you'll ever need!
It's either a thoughtful comment or smartass sarcasm. Learn to recognize the difference.

The NCAA limits participating teams to a 28 player dress list - which is why only 28 players were on UIndy's sideline for their game(s).

Yes, it appears Queens dressed the entire team even if they were not eligible to play. UIndy had the kids that were not eligible to play dress in polos.

The game is indeed Sunday at noon. #1 seed Limestone Saints (19-0) hosting #3 seed Indianapolis Greyhounds (16-2)

This will be only the fourth meeting between these two squads - all over the past 2+ years (Indy has played in Gaffney on the day before Selection Sunday for the past three seasons). Saints have won two - first meeting and the one on 5/4 this year. Indy won last year to put a final punctuation mark on the Saint's disappointing 11-8 season (and the first time since 1999 Limestone was not part of the NCAA tourney)...

In the prior game this year - the Saints took a 5-1 lead in the first quarter, and a 10-3 lead at the half, and never looked back. Indy did outscore the Saints in the third quarter (4-3), but it was too little too late.

Both teams won last week in OT (2 OT for Limestone), and that was the second OT win of the postseason for the Greyhounds. Last week's win for Indy was payback for a 13-10 regular season loss to Belmont Abbey, and happened after a very long weather delay (about 3 hours) in Belmont, NC. The Saint's win in OT was quite controversial as the apparent game winning crease dive by Andrew Kew of Tampa was waved off (and penalized). Much discussion has ensued...

The Saints want to avoid letting the Greyhounds keep it close, as they seem to have magic in OT...And the Greyhounds have to figure out how to clamp down on the Saints high powered offense (#1 in the country at 17.63 GPG). Indy is not bad at #17 (14.33 GPG) either - and the Saints #4 scoring D (8.26 GPG) held Indy to just 11 this year. The Indy D is still a good one - #19 at 9.94 GPG...

None of the Greyhounds scored more than a pair of goals against the Saints this year - but Matthew Johnson got untracked against the Abbey, scoring six goals in the 14-13 victory. He, Parker Kump, and Shawn Kimble will be looked to for scoring to help even this rematch up...The Indy D has to slow down the Saints who had 5 players at 2 or more goals, including 4 by Huyghue and hat tricks for Sundown and Papa. FOs were a problem for Indy as well - they only won 12 of 33...

Saints have the edge in experience and will be playing for a home crowd...this one might be closer than the first one, but Saints will be favored.

I'm just going to go ahead and stuff this in here... I've been telling anyone who pretends to listen, that bringing back the crease dive was a bad idea. The refs just have too much to look for... and having to judge within 1 degree, just exactly what 'plane' the diver is on... that is, into, or away or parallel with the crease is too freaking much. As well, of course, if the shooter contacts the ground before the ball crosses the line. In the Nll, they can challenge it, and replay it. Not in field, it's an instantaneous decision. And, as with box, it's kind of the defenseman's obligation to shove the shooter into the crease, and if the shooter contacts the goalie, he's supposed to beat him up. That's all we're missing so far.

As a UIndy fan... I know that any logical posts will have Limestone favored. But, if the team believes... then I believe. 8-)

Is the NCAA sending out of town refs or is the gang going to ref another hometown game.

No idea - but given that there were just three total extra man ops in the first game, I don't suspect it will be quite the issue...

Well, this is kinda scary...

As walking by Tampa fans, he just couldn't help but throw a dig, and said "welcome to Gaffney" while sticking out his tongue. No place in the NCAA for an official like that
And there was the whole crease dive call thing. Now that... as I've said before... no one can be expected to make the correct calls on crease dives. They just shouldn't be allowed. :x

Not just talking about what was called or wasn’t called, talking about the home cooking stone gets in most home games.
