The Suffolk thread won't be same without the wit and wisdom of stickhead. That big bear of a man likely hasn't emerged from his lair yet. Someone better wake him up.

Any take on teams? Is it Ward Melville’s to lose? Or is there a dark horse your eyeing?

Bay Shore beat a strong Islip team 12-7, also beat East Islip 16-8.
Big “division 1” games this week for them. Smithtown East on Tuesday, and West Islip on Thursday.

DP
Smithtown East has to open some eyes with their win over Comsewogue. HUGE game Tues.
Whats the deal with Huntington and these Power Points?
Why does Sachem East always play Ward Melville close?
Why would Northport schedule Riverhead then the next day South Side. 2 tough losses?

WI was clearly the better team, neither team could get off any offense. Both Goalies and defenses were good. Hearing some offensive players from WI injured didnt play and some BS were sick but played.

West Islip is really hitting their stride in all aspects of the game. Their defense is absolutely stifling, and the goalie is generally excellent. The only flaw in the goalie's game is his tendency to go to his knees too soon on low shots. Two of BayShore's goal were scored on rebounds. BayShore got some good looks early, but the goalie was all over the shots. He sees the ball really well. The defense is fast, tall, and aggressively athletic. The offense, bereft of superstars, shares the ball very well, resulting in many high percentage looks. Regan has a laser of a shot, and is, imho, an emerging player to watch. FO, Dylan Pape is quick and tough, and a nice offensive player. They dominated Commack from wire to wire yesterday. WM @ WI next Tuesday should be a fun watch.

Yeah great assessment. I didnt think WI would have a problem with Commack, thats why I didnt add that game to the games to watch. Maybe i should take off the Commack SW game. I do think you left out #12 and #42 for WI though those kids have been Key. Ive seen 3 of both WI and BS games and WI does look in top form, BS looked sluggish against them, a tribute to Wi defense for sure, but they didnt look as fast.

Loved your take on the Goalie, I am sure you highlighted the rebounds to note him going to his knees. In the WI BS game, both goalies were very good, but both teams had goals off of rebounds many teams do. You highlighted #5, ill highlight #12 and #42 on WI thought they've meant more.

Tough stretch coming for Ward Melville. Bay Shore, Sachem North, Chaminade, West Islip in that order. Just 2 losses between them all as well.

Murf - What's up with the threads on LI? Usually they're many pages thick by now. Where is everybody? The Water Cooler has quite a few of the old guard participating but these HS threads are sparse. ???
If we need that extra push over the cliff, ya know what we do...eleven, exactly.

Ward Melville at West Islip, today Tuesday, 4/9 at 4:30 pm. A battle of two great defenses.

WM was in control of the game from start to finish. Their defense was dominant. WI was uncharacteristically tight, committing many turnovers. WI should bounce back today vs an improving Sachem North team.

Current Ranking:

Smithtown West: Looking good.
Melville: Lost to Northport just knocks them down one.
West Islip: Coming week has Northport but can't remember last time they lost to Tigers
Northport: Beating WM brings them up, can they stay here?

Happy Holidays and they break.
