I always wondered the back story on Kyle Michella. Why he didn’t get the opportunity, or chose not to go on to play college lacrosse. I know he had some highlight stuff out there so he wanted to play at one point at least.... (I heard size was maybe an issue, but certainly he could have found a role somewhere)

Bronxville hires Rob Ambrose to be new head coach. Ambrose comes to NY from Michigan where he ran the power house that is the Brother Rice HS lacrosse program. 16 championships. 380 wins. This will have an impact.

Excellent point. Those two guys IMO are arguably the best to play in Section 1. Imagine if they were playing with today's deep pockets?!luvlaxlife wrote: ↑Fri Dec 21, 2018 10:22 pm Amazingly close numbers by Tom and Tim. Must have passed him in the last game...

If I recall, Brother Rice is one of the early successful, non-east coast high school lacrosse programs.DeepPocket wrote: ↑Thu Feb 07, 2019 5:18 pm Bronxville hires Rob Ambrose to be new head coach. Any insight into why there was a coaching change at Bronxville and where the prior head coach and staff landed?

No worries and thanks for information. Obviously, the Bronxville program catapulted to a powerful level in a short time. I was told the coaches and community were very supportive and the success speaks for itself. Hopefully, the new coaching staff can continue to make this Section 1 representative a state championship contender.

Re: NY Section I 2019 (Westchester, Rockland, Putnam)
Class B
John Jay HS (Katonah/Cross River), Defending Sec. I, Class B Champions
In 2018, John Jay was able to finally beat Yorktown in the sectional championship. Their run ended with a loss to Section 8 champions, Garden City.
The Indians graduated most of their starters and a large senior class. At least on paper, 2019 will be a rebuilding year and it is unlikely they will repeat as Section I champs. They graduated the following starters who received county recognition: their starting goalie, one close defenseman, one LSM, three midfielders and two attackmen.
Returning are two strong middies(Ford and Murphy) and attackman Bryce Ford, who is also the starting QB for John Jay. He will be a major force in Section I.
First Team All Westchester-Putnam
A-Bryce Ford, Jr. (Fairfield commit)
LSM-Thor Adamec, Sr. (Colgate)
D-Isaiah Rust, Sr. (Jacksonville)
Second Team All Westchester-Putnam
MF-Dean Ford, Jr.
Honorable Mention
MF-Tommy Beeby, Sr.
MF-Jack Gorman, Sr.,
MF-Patrick Horan, Sr.
