St. Ignatius squeaks by Sacred Heart Prep 8-7.

Several future college commits on all these teams.
Sacred Heart didn’t seem to have all that much problem with SRV, although I only caught the tail end so can’t say for sure, but holding that team to 7 :!:

I don’t see how, they’re stacked.
But, LCC did play them tight.

TP is stacked. They have a ton of D1 and DIII commits for a California program and they are really well coached. Coronado is not what they were the past two seasons, but they do have a solid defense. I have not seen LCC play, but I hear they are damn good this year.

I don’t know.
De La Salle has done this sort of thing before, turned things around in the NCS.
De La Salle won 13 in a row, after a rough start, maybe that explains some of it.

10stone5-that's quite an upset.

Granite Bay will face Marin Academy in the NCS D1 semi's at San Rafael HS on Tuesday, 5/14 @ 7:00 pm. This is the #2 seed in Granite Bay, whom I have not seen play, against an always solid and well coached MA team. Should be a great game.

The upstart De la Salle squad travels to Redwood HS in Larkspur to meet the Giants, 5/14 @ 5:00 pm. Should be a great afternoon of lacrosse. And if you're so inclined you could catch both games.

in the D2 bracket, Novato hosts Justin Sienna on 5/14 @ 5:30 pm
University HS of SF travels to Piedmont for their semi-final matchup at 5:00 pm.

Coronado graduated a bunch of seniors last year so they definitely had a down season. I am interested to see how the LCC and La Jolla game plays out. La Jolla won the regular season match-up 11-6 and are very senior heavy. Could be an interesting match up for TP.

The stage is set in NorCal

Redwood falls to De La Salle 6-5. I was really impressed with De La Salle's defense and goalie. They stifled the Redwood offense.
Marin Academy takes down Granite Bay 9-8 in OT.

The NCS final finds MA facing De La Salle for the 'Ship. Game is Thursday at 7 pm at San Rafael HS.

In DII-Novato pulls away from Justin-Siena 13-6 and will face Piedmont (who beat Accalanes 14-3) in the final. Strong showing for Marin County lacrosse in the NCS.

#1 Novato faces #2 Piedmont at Novato HS on Thursday at 5:30 pm.

Best of luck to all of the finalists!

I’ve seen De La Salle play games, where on paper, they have no business being in.
Congratulations of course to Johnny Christmas.
Lower Merion PA.
I’ve played with and against many Lower Merion players, so of course I’m inclined to give a shout out to SE PA lacrosse in this instance.

San Marcos Senior High School of Santa Barbara is looking for an assistant boys lacrosse coach. This position is open for a pre-season that starts January 19, 2021 and a regular season that starts March 12, 2021. The assistant coach will have the inside track to be the head coach for the 2021-22 (subsequent) season. Such placement to be approved by the athletic director.

Apply by e-mail to head coach Rick Lehman. The position depends on a successful completion of some NFHS on-line certifications and a background check required by the Santa Barbara Unified School District.

CIF announces guidelines for return of high school sports
December 17, 2020 8:08 PM
by Steven Felschundneff | [email protected]

The executive board of the California Interscholastic Federation issued a statement this week announcing that the California Department of Public Health has given the go ahead for high school sports competition to resume on January 25, 2021. The statement also includes detailed guidelines for each sport to return to play in the safest way possible.

The return to play is not guaranteed, however, because the public health department plans to revisit the issue on January 4. If the coronavirus outbreak is still surging at that time, competition could still be delayed or even scrapped.

The guidance from public health mirrors the overall COVID-19 risk, so if the county is in the most restrictive, purple tier, then sports will also operate under the most restrictive protocols.

Los Angeles County, along with 90 percent of the state is in the purple tier, the most restrictive, so the only sports allowed to compete come January 25 are: cross country, golf, swimming and diving, tennis and track and field. If the county advances to the red, or substantial, tier then baseball, field hockey, girls lacrosse, and softball would be added.

The county will have to advance to the moderate tier for badminton, football, gymnastics, boys lacrosse, soccer, volleyball, and water polo to compete. Finally, the region would have to be in a minimal, yellow tier, for basketball, cheerleading and wrestling to get the go ahead.

“Everyone in California wants students to be able to return to in-person learning, sports, and all other co-curricular activities that are so important for their physical and mental well-being,” the statement read.

For now the order allows for physical conditioning practices to continue, including skill building and training as long as they are done outdoors.

Competitions, meets and races are authorized only if both teams are located in the same county or if teams are located in immediately bordering counties. Out-of-state competition is not allowed at this time.

Any tournaments or events that involve more than two teams are not currently

permitted in California. Exceptions may be made, with authorization from the local health department, for the sports where individual competitors from multiple teams are routine like track and field, cross-country, tennis and golf.

Schools must still follow all guidelines from their local, county and board of education for the district.
