Congrats to Oakton & Madison players who made the All-Met HM team - K. McDaid (OHS), E. Robertson (OHS) & K. Lyons (JMHS).

Watching Lyons this year was a treat. He drew the toughest assignment in every game and in many cases completely shut down some of NOVA’s top attacks.

Re: Virginia 6A 2019
Been busy and just catching up. A few questions going into 2020 season:
1. Was 2019 an outlier with the 4A and 5A champs much stronger than the 6A or is that a new trend?
2. Which teams lost the most?
3. Which teams have the most rising up from JV and any impact Freshman?
4. Which team will be the biggest surprise of 2020
BW and Riverside will lose more than most in the off season. Patriot will be much improved as I hear there is a possible new assistant coach (pole) who won two national championships and will right the ship. JC will be 6A and I will go out on a limb and predict that Madison, Oakton, Robinson, and Woodson will all be pre-season top 10 teams. And for the dozens who read this, I suggest a combined public school lacrosse board.

Re: Virginia 6A 2019
Not sure how much stronger the 4A and 5A champs are compared to 6A. As the season went on Madison became a very dominant team in all phases of the game. They were deep at all positions as well. They'd match up well with BW or Riverside.

Re: Virginia 6A 2019
With Cedar Run teams (Champe included) moving from Region D to Region B, Champe, Patriot and Battlefield road to the State Tourney becomes easier. 2019 qualifiers Cosby assigned to Region A North. Colonial Forge who SoCo beat easily remains in Region B with Cedar Run Teams. Regions C remains the same and Region D loses Cedar Run teams. How will VHSL reconcile brackets for 2020 tourney?OSVAlacrosse wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2019 2:34 pm Been busy and just catching up. A few questions going into 2020 season:

“BW and Riverside will lose more than most in the off season”
Riverside returns everyone other than the big 3. Albeit a very hard 3 to replace, but the rest of the top 20 still there. And the JV team hasn’t lost in close to 3 years.
BW losing double digit seniors.

Re: Virginia 6A 2019
He switched about a year ago. About four of these players (Lindenbaum, Jordan, Miller (I think), and one Maryland player) played together on C2C national team a while back.
Re: Virginia 6A 2019
W-L has a defenseman ((J. McCormick) going to Centre College. What about Carson Smith (McLean) or Jake Reilly (Yorktown)? Saw those kids play a lot over the years in rec, travel ball, and HS.
Re: Virginia 6A 2019
I believe I heard Carson may be going to Whittier College to play. Jake is going to South Carolina, not sure if he's playing for their club team.

Re: Virginia 6A 2019
Looking at the Under Armour Underclassmen rosters, I see the teams from large geographic areas such as Baltimore, Long Island, New England, the South, the Southwest, Upstate NY, the West, and more. For Virginia, it appears we are lumped into Washington DC which of course is all players from Bullis, Landon, Gonzaga, ALL PRIVATES. Did no one from Virginia public’s 6, 5 or 4 get a tryout? Will there be a Mid Atlantic UA underclass Team to accommodate our state? Last I checked, Virginia is not in Washington DC. The South is all GA, NC and FLA players. Is the process not complete or are the VA publics getting the Titanium Shaft?
Re: Virginia 6A 2019
Wave lax was the same way - a bad joke, they fizzled out.
I think UA can survive despite our collective VA public outrage.
