Yay, Hopkins finished 8th. :roll:

If ...

(1) Zinn can develop into an AA-caliber middie;

(2) DeSimone can get back to form;

(3) Foley returns;

(4) Prouty and M. Narewski develop into a formidable two-headed monster on faceoffs;

(5) A couple of sophomore 6-foot middies get more playing time;

(6) SSDM play improves; :roll:

(7) Joey Epstein keeps being Joey Epstein;

(8) Cole improves his shooting; and

(9) Giacalone (or somebody) develops into a solid and consistent goalie ...

... then maybe Hopkins can play in the Final Four next season.

I hope it's at least a good single malt.

1- Found an error. The teams with zero wins were being ranked higher than they should. Fixed the issue.
2- The Rankings are based on teams relative to other teams. usually, we compare the teams to the previous ranking. For the final ranking, we've compared the teams to the teams in the previous, Final ranking, ranking. this way, the BW (Best Win) isn't Villanova and Penn because they beat Yale (who was #1 before the Final Ranking). The Best Wins will be the teams that beat UVA, the final #1. And, as a consequence... The Rankings change.
3- Have the usual Points, Winning Percentage, SOS, etc. and added the Final Rankings for Massey, LaxBytes, Inside Lacrosse, and Lacrosse Magazine so we can compare and contrast.

Quint's rankings are a disaster. It's as if the games this weekend just didn't matter. He still has Georgetown outside the top 10 after they beat Villanova 16-1. I repeat: 16-1. OSU 6 spots behind Syracuse, LOL. What's the point of playing the games?

not bad. denver seems to be getting a bit too much love, loyola i'd have above psu and syracuse, too.
richmond above high point is questionable and hopkins in there, too. though don't know who'd replace them.

It is important to realize with Quint that he never allows the reality of games on the field sway his pre-conceived notions of where a team SHOULD be in the rankings. Unfortunately for Quint, he does not have the Ivies to diminish all season so he has to find some other teams - say, Georgetown and Army - to squash beneath his beloved powerhouses.

Quint rankings are questionable off early results but he's obviously projecting as most early rankings tend to do based on analysis and season expectations. May be right or wrong, time will tell.

Media poll bumped Georgetown up to five.
Not that polls matter much, but since there won’t
be much head to head match ups,

its useful to see which teams may be able to match
up with the ACCs.

I don't love his rankings either but I do like UVA at #1. Not because they're the best team in the nation but because they've had the best wins.

that's going to be a very real aspect of this season. Dramatic differences in Strengths of Schedule.
