OSU has 2 guys who can win their match ups: Jasinski and Leclaire. That's about it. You need more than that to beat PSU this year.

This Penn State team reminds me a little of that Tambroni - Cornell squad, the 2007 team that went unbeaten until the semi finals.
That was one complete team, strong in all areas.
Similar to this PSU team
Of course, a different offense, they had no Grant Ament, they had a very strong midfield.
But very complete, like this team.
Here’s hoping they can stay healthy, to see how far they can take things.

What a solid team across the board. They have strength in every position. The Big tourney is going to be exciting to watch. I can easily see these guys getting to the final four this year. If they stay healthy and confident they will be the favorite. Would like to see them play Loyola for the title when they are hitting on all cylinders! Ament vs Spencer wow!

Strong team for sure, the road aint easy.
It makes me anxious when a 'cuse fella notes that I left his team off of my short list for Memorial day, and then bothers to record it. Many a prognosticator has eaten hat-felt after discounting the Desko lax crew.

DMac, I see 'cuse as I see Denver, the 'heels, the Irish, Cornell, and hop. Proud programs who can win 3-in-a-row at any time, but I'm not putting them on my short list. The Quakers and Loyola and Towson also can win 3 or 4 in a row against anyone, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Right now, would you put real money on anyone but 'cept the Lions?

Deep question, 3rd. No, but of all my bad habits I'm not a gambler. I'd need some good odds for a nice pot with minimal amount risked to bet against Penn State. What I see though, when I look at the field is pretty much what you see, there are several teams who on any given day can beat anybody. Lacrosse across the board is producing some fine looking lacrosse teams, the field is brutal.

After seeing Penn State in person earlier this season, I told a lax friend that this team is "seriously good." That being said, I had just seen PSU lose. Since then, it seems to me that Ament's style has changed a bit: less flashy, somewhat less risky in his selection of passes. In his ninth (I believe) year in Happy Valley, Tambroni has certainly fashioned a strong squad... not invincible, but very good, enjoyable to watch. Knocking off Maryland in Maryland was big; again, this team is seriously good. It will be interesting to see how it performs in May.

I'm sure he is, but I hope Tambroni is smart enough to put Ament on the bench in games where they get a comfortable lead. Don't want a Dylan Molloy/Brown situation where he got injured late in a blow game over Hopkins, he should have been on the bench but instead ended with a broken foot. Injuries are one of the biggest worries now for this team.

Figured first B1G Season Championship for PSU should get them some love? 8 weeks at No. 1? But now the wins really count! Big game Thursday against a tough Rutgers team they have never beat in New Brunswick.

Not this year, no.
A milestone for sure.

But this team is like that 2007 team at Cornell.
Mad scientist that he is, Tambroni built this team to win.

Wow!!

Well played. The way the game should be played.

We finally have a Tambroni Penn State team. Skill, style, and speed.

Congratulations on the B1G Championship!

14 and 1.
Grant Ament becomes number one in assists for a season.
B1G champions.
Number one seed in the NCAAs.

But I’m certain Tambroni wants more.
Again, this team reminds me a little of that 2007 Cornell team. That Tambroni team reached the semi-finals. They beat a real fine Albany team, and gave Duke all they could handle.

If there are any Penn State fans on this board—congrats. Well deserved Big Ten title. Probably the most prolific offense I've ever seen. Clear, clear favorites to win the national championship.

I don’t know if Keystone or any of those Laxpower old timers ever made it over here.
But this is the team you were looking for all those years.
Hard to see where this team does not win its opening game, I say that, unless its against Robert Morris, in which case I’ll reserve judgement.
Happy Valley will be packed for that one.
And also, once again, three Pennsylvania schools make it to the NCAAs.

In discussions teams with a shot I don’t think I read Yale Penn’s name in recent posts. I think they have a very legitimate shot.
