Overall spot on with their selections but I do not see how UMass who certainly did have a stellar year on defensively could get two 1st team selections! UMass lost to Drexel in the CAA semi final game at home a must win for their program and defense couldn’t Drexel’s Offense.
Brendan Sunday for Towson should have been a 2nd or 3rd teamer

How do two Duke defenders make 1st team.

Re: Inside Lacrosse All American List
Looks like Inside Lacrosse didn’t want to stray too far from their mid season All American list by going again with 2 UMass and 2 Duke players defense on 1st team! Not sure second half of the season warranted such high praise for those 4 !

this list is meaningless, no?

Re: Inside Lacrosse All American List
Every sport has several All American type of lists so Inside Lacrosse holds some merit for men’s lacrosse when it’s all said and done
Re: Inside Lacrosse All American List
I give IL credit for actually having the appropriate numbers at each position on each team. (Except for D-mid -- why still just one?) If it serves no other purpose other than shaming USILA into getting back to that then it seems like a worthy exercise.

Re: Inside Lacrosse All American List
Agreed on USLIA list has way too many All Americans. At this point about 150 All Americans. The everyone gets a trophy has watered down the significance of getting All American nod

I think that IL is looking to build marketable team brands in large markets that will sell subscriptions and advertising year in and year out. Promoting high profile sports schools and flattering big name coaches helps their business.

I suspect Joey Epstein will garner something better than HM AA. He had 73 points, but 48 goals as part of that. Always thought there was a bias towards goals vs. assists.Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2019 9:23 pmLike most things from IL.....it's a joke.It aint over yet wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2019 9:17 pm Overall spot on with their selections but I do not see how UMass who certainly did have a stellar year on defensively could get two 1st team selections! Also, for much of the season he was matched against the opponent’s best close defenseman. He scored his points against the toughest schedule in the nation.
Neither Harrison nor Rabil, two future Hall of Famers, had the team rely as much on them during their freshman seasons. Epstein was just incredible this year. Would not be surprised if Epstein garners at least third-team honors from the USILA.

Re: Inside Lacrosse All American List
I looked for UVA midfielder/attackman Matt Moore's name on that list.
77 points, top for UVA, whether attack or midfield.
Am I just blinking and missing it?

Matt Moore UVA, #5 in your program and #1 on the Hoos,2019 tally sheet (to date),is conspicuously missing from this the list. PUZZLIN'.
Pleased to see Nick Spillane (PSU) get some well-deserved recognition.
Re: Inside Lacrosse All American List
1. What about Chris Fake's season is All-American worthy? 22 GBs and 11 CTs is not especially impressive. Every time I watch Yale he's getting scored on. Bucaro absolutely annihilated him this weekend. Good player who had a great freshman season but that should not automatically qualify you as an AA for life, which is what appears to have happened. These lists are pretty much drawn up before the season starts and only minor adjustments are made based on how guys actually play.
2. Bernhardt is a 3rd teamer but a Tewaaraton finalist? Something here doesn't add up.
3. Two Duke defenders on 1st team seems a bit much. I'd go Van Raaphorst 1st team, Giles-Harris 2nd or 3rd team.
4. Epstein, Wisnauskas, and Morrill all should be 3rd team over Teat, honestly. Probably over Bernhardt too, he's not even leading his own team in points.

Re: Inside Lacrosse All American List
Nichtern from Army should at least be an HM AA. What about Burr from BU and a bit surprised no ND poles on the list.
