What we Learned Today - Feb. 10th

Post by admin »

What we learned this weekend, with Notre Dame still to play, is that Ohmi is stacked. His D, Towson, had minus 4 vs. JHU so hopefully his D will suck. As for his players on the O side of the field, stacked.

Denver D – 5 (Greenie) – But vs. Air Force who scored 4 vs. Duke so, who knows.
Denver’s Austin French - 5 (UK Lax) and Colton McCaffery – 3 (Undrafted)
UMass D – negative 8 (NJLax) – NJ Lax’s only D and the -8 was vs. Army. Uh-oh.
Army’s Symmes (ohmi) 6, Jones (Matnum) 5, Glancy (NC Lax) 5, and Glesener (UK Lax) 4.
Faifield – Yawn.
Duke’s Guterding (Matnum) 9, Joe Robertson (Undrafted) 8
UMD D – 6
UMD’s Bubba Fairman (Wholly) is a freshman, started, and had 3. Maltz (Dropped and Undrafted by Greenie. Oops.) 4
Navy – Yawn
UNC’s Cloutier (ohmi) 6, Cook (Canada) 5, and Anderson (Stegs) 4.
OSU’s LeClaire (FCA) 4 and Reid (HipandKnee) 4 and he’s a Freshman.
PSU’s O’Keefe (ohmi) 6, Hill (NC Lax) 5, and Spillane (Matnum) 4.
RU’s Heningburg (ohmi) 5
SU D – 6 Points – But vs. Binghamton
SU’s Bomberry (FCA) 6 and Rehfuss (Tartan) 5
UMBC’s Nolan (Matnum) 4 and Zichelli (Undrafted) 4.
UVA’s Laviano (Greenie) 6 and a Freshman.
Loyola’s Spencer (Canada) 5 and Duffy (ohmi) 4.
JHU’s Marr (Stegs) 6.
Towson - Yawn

Ok, this might be the most epic lazy screw up of all time. I think you're talking about Rotanz, not Maltz. When we entered the 2018 draft, here's what the post of my roster looked like:
"Greenielax
Mikey Wynne SR A Notre Dame
Tim Rotanz GRAD M UMD
Nico Panepinto GRAD A Farifield
Brendan Kavanaugh A SR Hofstra
Eric Fannell GRAD A OSU
Mitch Gordon SO A Uva
Mike Lynch M GRAD Towson
Ryan Conrad M JR UVA
Sergio Salcido GRAD M Syracuse
Dan Grabher M GRAD Army
Kason Tarbell M SR Cornell
Matt Emery M SR UVA
UNC D
Denver D"

So I assumed Rotanz graduated. I can't believe I never checked the "GRAD" designation!!!! I definitely would have kept him; he was one of my biggest 2017 scorers! And the complete idiocy of it is that I definitely checked the other GRAD indications  I deserve what I get for that bad move, I guess. But that's why he went undrafted--no one knew he was back for a second sr season

Right. Rotanz.

Looked at the old rosters and in 2015, he red-shirted as a sophomore. In 2016, he was a R-SO. and... He's listed as a Junior. Whoever was the coach at the time, missed the red-shirt year for him. Ugh. Sorry to hear this.

What if someone caught it and drafted him their last pick. Holy crow. That would've been painful.

Exactly. This way, it's a bit of "no harm, no foul." Well, except for those points I'm going to miss out on. Well, lesson learned!

Resolved. This league was never a work intensive league. Not that checking whether Rotanz was a red-shirt is work intensive but... Rotanz is yours. Honest mistake.
