Re: MASS HS Lax
Great kid, still at PC but just trying to balance the freedom college provides with also being on a team with expectations.

Re: New England West 2024
I can only speak for Belmont Hill (Mass) but I think that they claim to have, hand selected students, from over 30 cities and towns - so far from just “kids from the neighborhood”.

Re: ISL
I worry too. I know plenty of towns that have really strong youth programs but the HS teams blows. I think lacrosse in Mass overall has slowed in its growth and progress due to towns not being able to produce competitive teams anymore. Any kid who is half decent feels obligated to jump ship and go p...

Not looking to start up the yearly debate but…….
Congrats to Radnor, Manhasset and Staples for making the list w/o re-classes or PG’s.

Re: MIAA "A" Conference 2024
When I scroll thru current college rosters I’ll occasionally see players from MIAA schools listed with hometowns from Florida or Oregon, etc… I just always assumed that these schools did not have boarding options. I guess I was wrong. Do they all offer boarding and is this a new thing that is expand...

Re: MASS HS Lax
Wow. Huge news. He has done a tremendous job at Reading.
It’s a weird time to step down with the season starting up shortly - has he given any reasons why he is leaving?

Re: New England West 2024
Makes you wonder about the public school kids who start on top D1 teams and didn’t PG or re-class.
Those kids are becoming more and more of a unicorn but man is it impressive when you see them.

Maybe a stupid question:
How would St. A’s do in D3 College lax?

Re: New England West 2024
This seems relatively new that PG’s are coming from prep schools and other boarding schools. I know it happened in the past but it seems like it has accelerated. To me it always seemed to make sense that you had a good athlete, coming from a local HS, who needed another year of growth academically, ...

Re: MASS HS Lax
Also, The MIAA absolutely sucks. I love public school lacrosse but the MIAA has zero interest in keeping up with the times with regards to advancing sports, social media, college recruiting, etc…. Their website looks like it was made on a Nintendo 64. They only care about collecting “the gate” at pl...

Re: MASS HS Lax
The Catholics recruit and that is a fact. Look at Xaverian and Coach Morse. He showed up on campus and instantly there is half of Laxachusetts’s roster in Westwood. CM football is notorious for recruiting kids from all over the State….. there is no way a kid from Gloucester, on the football roster, ...

Appreciate all the comments regarding Utah. I have never seen the campus but everyone’s points make it sound like it’s a great place to play lax.
I wish them continued success.

Re: USA Magazine Way Early Rankings for 2024
How does Utah, a new program- in a non hotbed, get ahead of teams like Umass and Loyola? Is this just coaching / recruiting? If you coach a consistent top 25 program, on the east coast there is no way a start up team in the West should be ahead of you you. I know everyone is going to point to Denver...

Re: New England West 2024
I agree, the players interviewed seem put together. I also think kids today are pretty savvy and can smell manufactured bs. If you are an old grizzled coach, with a tradition of turning out successful boys (and teams) then maybe this approach is embraced but not for a new coach who introduces himsel...

Re: New England West 2024
Just watched the above video, well I tried to watch the above video but I had to stop due to the cringe. This idea of an out of shape, 40 year old man in a turquoise Patagonia jacket, treating an elite prep school team like they are Delta Force is so painful. Endless lines like “you can only rely on...

Re: MASS HS Lax
Owen Murphy at UMD was a top 5 scorer on their 22 Championship team and he was only a sophomore.
Does that count?
Also, going back aways. Quinzani at Duke from Dux was an absolute stud. I think it was 08.

Re: Final Poll USA lacrosse Mag
Just take a look at the NEWest thread and they discuss the PG’s coming in for next year. https://fanlax.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=297&t=4453&start=40 Many of them are coming from private schools and have already reclassed. So yes, double re-classes happen and it’s not rare. A lot of people w...
