...bad news. Nebraska is furloughing 51 staffers for four months...plus cutting salaries by 10%. They expect a $100 MILLION athletics deficit. As important, if not more important, the estimated economic loss to the Lincoln community is projected at $300 MILLION. A similar situation is develop...

 TL is worried nary a bit. TL’s Laxchix typically whup Da’Cuse like a rented Tarheel (check the record  ), thus equipment is hardly an issue. That said, if Gaitlax provides a quality product (they sure will) YOUR University of Maryland Women’s Lacrosse Team will be all in. Rather ...

That’s a truly amazing run of bad fortune among your friends.

On the other hand, TL is in regular communication with friends in six countries and more than 30 states...Massachusetts to Hawai’i; Alaska to Florida. Only one has been positive for the virus. ONE. He’s a nurse...zero symptoms...14 day quarantine..back to work in virus unit. Multiple friends In Melb...

Doomers are prevailing it seems.

But look at the bright side.

The beervirus has cured flu, pneumonia, Alzheimer’s, and multiple other diseases.

At least nobody seems to die of those ailments nowadays.

Peace, out.

Re: COVID-19 (coronavirus) impact on Women's Lacrosse

7. The death rate is infinitesimally small. 8. The once great state of Maryland has a population of more than 6,000,000 (6 MILLION) humans. As of yesterday, August 6, there are a grand total of five hundred, thirty-five (535) humans currently hospitalized with the beervirus. 9. TL has personal frien...

Incorrect. She last played for the Terps in the first two games of the 2014 ACC tournament. She did not play thereafter and played for Syracuse in 2015-16. Peace, out. TL Not the first time Maryland has lost a blue chip player. Halle Majorana transferred to Syracuse after the 2015 championship seaso...

No worries.

Doncha worry a bit about TL’s Laxchix. Any coach, any sport, will tell you if a player doesn’t want to be part of the team she/he will be happy when the player moves on. And don’t forget, Coach Cathy has little tolerance for players who aren’t in line with TEAM performance/culture. After all,...

Re: COVID-19 (coronavirus) impact on Women's Lacrosse

These decisions lead TL to believe they were driven by influences beyond the academic and athletics components of the conferences/universities. This is NOT a debasement of the legal profession or those who are part of that profession but they had ZERO business in this process. ZERO. It is more an in...

Stanford just canceled eleven programs.

Yes, THAT Stanford and, yes, eleven (11!) sports with attendant loss of jobs and scholarship opportunities.

You think your school is immune? Get ready...

I truly hope common sense somehow prevails... So far it has not!

Nope...not remotely close. ‘Twas a Terp MOM...and Turtles played 2 keepers that season...including the ‘Ship game. Peace, out. Posted in the ‘2021’ thread a day or so again...

...that NCAA is to meet this week re: playing football games without fans in the stands. If that is true, with the doomers prevailing, it will very likely lead to many institutions cutting spring (read: non-revenue) sports with myriad consequences beyond sports, per se. Here’s to hoping common sense...

NCAA to consider football without...

...fans in a meeting this week as TL understands. Better hope whoever proposed that or is in favor of that is overruled/outvoted. It would very likely cause the end of many spring sports...lax included. Not a doomer, obviously, but apparently far too many are. Peace, out. TL Edit: Not all (ho...
