Re: Hobart 2025
You couldn't pay me enough to be a coach these days. The NC$$ is a complete cluster leaving college athletics FUBAR. COVID years, constant rule changes, Portal, NIL, and now the settlement and pay to play. I'm an old man ranting, but between all of that, the skewing of rules towards offense, stick ...

Re: Atlantic 10 2024
 Amen to honesty, Ketch. Q: "Why does St. Joe's win more?" A: "Because they're better. And I'd like to post to the Hobart thread: Q: "How can Hobart win more?" A: "Play better." No reason to beat around the bush, no? Winning begets winning, and St. Joe's is w...

Re: Hobart 2025
Should've been clearer: not that they weren't there mentally all year, but more as the season progressed. To put it another way: is the problem with the whole system or with the system makes/doesn't make adjustments. No first year arrives checked out and still plays. I don’t think many kids check o...

Re: Hobart 2025
Patterson was an incredible player. And might have been an archer in the future. I don’t get blowing off losing great players. Would you blame a leaking roof on bad weather? The so what is why would good players leave in big numbers. That’s a coach/culture issue that needs addressed. I'll stand by ...

Re: Hobart 2025
Holy crap! Well I guess we will see lots of new faces next year. Can they come back? I remember herlihy went to portal but came back. Or was that because he was grad? I saw all the speculation about Patterson but to have two starters leave seems like a problem. We should have thrown money ant them....

Re: Hobart 2025
Heard of three players considering transfer portal in addition to Campbell and Greene. Don’t want to mention names at this point but we’ll find out soon. I’m not mentioning anymore because they aren’t public. But I heard 4 more. And good ones. 7 trying their luck? Have a good time on that trip to G...

Re: Hobart 2025
Interesting that the Hobart website announcing the A10 selections states at the end, "...beset by injuries...4-9" Why is it that EVERY year we are bitten by the injury bug? I think we can all agree that the game was much more physical during the prior decades, and yet I don't remember any...

Re: Hobart 2025
I did not like the tone of the last podcast. A little too defiant and defensive.
As for goalie, you really need two you are willing to go with. See Cornell‘s experience this year. That might not be enough to keep Faiola around though. I prefer him as the (first) starter.

Re: Hobart 2024
I think they'll beat the Bonnies by 10+. Ignorantly unaware that Hobart was only working with 3 scholarships. Granted, financial aid has always be generous to lax players, but getting the full 12.6 will be a game changer for the program. Grabbing some Canucks and other high profile players will be ...

Re: Hobart 2024
Flip the table? For a coach who won’t go to the TP, all I can see is a mass exodus after this disastrous season. not sure the transfer portal is necessary for us. We are a team that needs to play 30-35 kids. We have to win with the system, not the horses. I think what Fl-Go is saying is that he exp...

Re: Hobart 2024
Can't fault the effort today, especially from senior Chad Bach. What a warrior. Will be sad to see him go. Any particular reason Raymond didn't call a time out with Shea winning that last face-off? The announcers said he had one left. On the plus side, at least he did switch up his lineup a bit.

Re: Hobart 2024
Those that still think Hobart can compete at a high level are just out of touch with the current state of college lacrosse. 61k a year with no athletic scholarships and still for the most part low level D1 or high level D3 facilities. Slim chance at transfers as guys arent going to transfer in some...

Re: Coaches On The Hot Seat 2024
I'm sure there's a major financial consideration to consider but hard to think Raymond isn't on a major hot seat. Hobart has taken some major steps backwards and look overwhelmed in the A-10. I was waiting to see if someone other than a Hobart fan would write something. Don't disagree with it eithe...
