Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
Which leads to my question: will you folks feel this is a successful season if Hop misses the Final Four? Just curious. It is of course hard to get to the FF and the path is so important. Last year Hopkins had to get through Notre Dame - Penn State had Princeton and Army so alot depends on the seed...

Re: 2024 top 20
The committee uses your 10 toughest opponents by RPI, which is what Lacrosse Reference shows in those listings. The RPI rankings reflect the NCAA methodology for calculating the official RPI. I have also broken the RPI value into its 3 component parts. The 1st value is based on the team’s winning pe...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
Yeah other than players drive to play and handling egos / keeping people in rhythm I don't see a good reason why you couldn't "empty" parts of the bench and just let it ride in a couple weeks. With how banged up some of them seem to be and kinda how little you have been getting out of them...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
10 days of rest might really help with Melendez/Martin and Evans. Cheers to that. I'm sure there is more wrong with the boys than just these few, everyone could use the rest. Bauer seemed to have some monstrosity of a compression thing on his one hip/hamstring yesterday and Melendez looked like he ...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
They're in the ncaa tournament. They lose the next 3 and they're 8-6 with wins over uva, penn state, michigan, georgetown, et al. Cotter said at the end of the broadcast it was the last win in the last possession in 6 years. doesn't seem right but oh well. Apparently haven't won in Columbus since 2...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
The UVA win kinda did more harm than good for the mental health of some folks around these parts in that it raised expectations and the perceived floor of acceptable play back above a level it really shouldn't be at still just yet. The loss to Navy was Ugly. The two together should really just give ...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
It's a freeze frame couple tenths of a second and It doesn't look like he reclamped the ball from all of the other motions. His stick was flipped over already in the frames before this. I don't think he actually clamped it a second time but I don't think this is as clear cut as you'd like to think i...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
Yeah I think Callahan was called for withholding for not getting it out of his clamp quick enough — but of course he was prevented from doing so by the Cuse FOGO keeping his stick down. They need to change that rule. This is not accurate, he had the ball clamped to the ground for too long when it w...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
He was on the sidelines in the second half with a big boot and crutches still not really putting much weight on it. Certainly an ankle or foot injury and nothing like knee related so good news on that front, but how bad we'll have to wait to see in the coming days I imagine, probably hasn't even got...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
The Jays still don't yet have anyone proven to be "the guy" on offense which is sorta the problem and will likely continue to be the problem. Ideally you can find someone with a hot hand or favorable match up from game to game with how many generally talented bodies the roster has but as o...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
Admittedly in limited shifts with a small sample size between scrimmages and now games but to my eye so far this year Brown has looked a little more suspect. A hair late on a slide, bad angle on ball defending, losing his mark when off ball. May just be taking some time to ramp back up into season f...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
- In addition your senior consensus pre-season AA defenseman takes a cross checking foul - leading to a time-out JHU - this is the one where I wonder more than the 1st - yes your defense is tired and you want to be set in case you lose the face-off but.... that situation should be covered in practi...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
I certainly hope it’s on plus. Ordinarily I’d be in the stands, but I can’t leave my dog alone for a couple of hours. He doesn’t even like a quick dash into Eddie’s. Odds favor the home team, but Denver returns most of last year’s key players. You can always just bring the dog can't you? I thought ...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
It's one thing to berate the refs/opposing team for an actual game, but for a preseason scrimmage with only a few hundred fans — against an inferior opponent with whom there's no bad blood — it's deeply cringe. For sure I can get behind this sentiment, I know I get a bit over the top during an actu...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
Definitely, while I can't say I preferred the look of them either it all just went down really awkward. No recalls of the model from Schutt, and it's not like Schutt is some newcomer to the helmet martketplace in general. If they were completely clueless about head protection I'd think they wouldn't...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
I'm just glad to see it is a Cascade; happy to see we're not going back for round 2 of that failed experiment. Minor issue with the QF helmet from last year is the boys didn't win; is that enough bad juju to taint them forever? We already talked about the 100 whatever-th Maryland meeting panel helme...

CP is a true and easy communte to DC, New Brunswick to NYC is not. Thats a fact. Plus no Cluck U Chicken in New Brunswick. College Park no longer has Cluck U Chicken (or renamed to Clucksters or whatever) anymore either sadly. Admittedly any place that doesn't have one of these glorious bastions of...

Apart from alumni networking or placement type events which are run via a school program I don't actually think the texted printed on your diploma matters as much anymore as some people might think it does. It simply existing is generally enough.

Not exactly surprising news, but good for Coach Kelly. Glad he'll be extra incentivized to hang around now that he's getting a paycheck to do it

Re: 2023 world lacrosse men's championship
Thank you very much this is exactly what I was looking for at a bare minimum. I'd certainly be interested to see more full bios on players in general as team construction for these things and the level of play is just kind of fascinating to me particularly with a team like Japan that is all "in...
