Re: Johns Hopkins 2025
Marquis news is not surprising. Been dreading it for awhile but can't blame him. I'm not at practice everyday so not about to go apoplectic over personnel decisions like some here but let's just say I'm disappointed he didn't find a role. Really talented kid and wish him well. Yeah it sucks to lose...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025
Xanders reported. “rising junior attackman Koleton Marquis has entered the portal, per a source. IL's former No. 59 recruit appeared in four games as a freshman, playing on the Jays' EMO during the postseason. He posted 160 points playing box last summer for the @JrANorthmen.” Sad to hear, albeit n...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025
My biggest thing about one handedness is really more about the potentially problematic nature of having too many of those players on the offensive end together at once and how that can hinder an offensive set if you're lacking in balance due to that. Not really any different from having too many guy...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025
Yeah with the incredibly imperfect data in only really having seen a handful of game highlights and highlight reels many of which are a year or more old there isn't a ton you can really know for sure of unless you're way more involved in the high school scene. Gregorek is exciting because he just se...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025
PM also maybe officially/unofficially confirmed that English got a redshirt for this past year and intends to stick around campus for 5. Certainly not a surprise that a medical waiver could be/maybe was already granted but this seemingly indicates that they went through the process and that playing ...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025
It is amazing what a little winning can do. These are some really nice gets from the portal and not the position I expected the program to be in today when we discussed this like two years ago. Wild.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025
I never said you were wrong about that, I never agreed with your assertion that this years players you wanted to do it showed they were up to the challenge. More runs of Grimes, etc. not beating his SSDM wasnt the solution, no matter how much you told them to just do it harder.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025
Staff desperately needs a replacement for angelus. Ideally multiple Millon level top rated recruits. I can't recall anyone under Milliman that was a top 5 offensive recruit. Yeah I'd be looking forward to over the next few years to not replace Angelus but to exceed him ideally. You're not guarantee...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
That was absolutely a crease violation. I don't know if you all end up winning if the violation was called, but it certainly would hade it exceedingly hard for UVA to win. What a performance in goal. I do think Milliman should have called a timeout in the 2nd OT. The offense was so gassed. Who know...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
Ultimately in like 30 minutes of game play we just needed the offense to score 1 goal and it kinda doesn't matter. Would prefer that call went our way but the boys had their chance. Clearing was at like 60% today, if I want to be mad or blame something there's plenty to go around already inside the ...

Re: QF #3 Hopkins vs #6 Virginia Sunday @2:30
Anything is possible. If this was his / our best shot that kind of sucks because this years offense was ultimately incredibly suspect and I'd like to think in future years the gang will be able to put together a better unit on that end of the field. You can try to scheme all you want but when the bo...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025
It will be a year of turnover and growth. Whether the new kids will be ready to take the next step and move into bigger roles we'll see but much of the team will be almost unrecognizable. That's going to come with some growing pains for sure but at the same time we've also been living with some madd...

Re: QF #3 Hopkins vs #6 Virginia Sunday @2:30
Anyone here seriously think PM will ever measure up to Petro? DocBarrister  He doesn't have to in order to be successful and we live in a completely different world from all those things that happened a lifetime ago. Stop living in the past. Petro leaving was a good thing, PM is doing a fine ...

Re: #3 Hopkins vs Lehigh Sunday @ noon
They actually blew the horn once shortly after that faceoff. Dunno if it was just the guy making sure it was functional in case of expected need or if that was supposed to stop play to begin with. There is/was definitely a guy operating it though. I've been coming to homewood for a while and dont re...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
Which leads to my question: will you folks feel this is a successful season if Hop misses the Final Four? Just curious. It is of course hard to get to the FF and the path is so important. Last year Hopkins had to get through Notre Dame - Penn State had Princeton and Army so alot depends on the seed...

Re: 2024 top 20
The committee uses your 10 toughest opponents by RPI, which is what Lacrosse Reference shows in those listings. The RPI rankings reflect the NCAA methodology for calculating the official RPI. I have also broken the RPI value into its 3 component parts. The 1st value is based on the team’s winning pe...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
Yeah other than players drive to play and handling egos / keeping people in rhythm I don't see a good reason why you couldn't "empty" parts of the bench and just let it ride in a couple weeks. With how banged up some of them seem to be and kinda how little you have been getting out of them...
