Re: Texas HS Lacrosse 2020
I heard that coaches got an email from THSLL to at least start thinking about what it might look like. That’s not to say it’s a good idea or likely.

Re: Texas HS Lacrosse 2020
Looks more and more likely that there won’t be football in the fall. Not sure if they will try to play in the spring, but if I am THSLL, I would strongly consider playing the high school lax season this fall. Club ball is going strong; there shouldn’t be much of a transition.

Re: Summer Lacrosse 2020
Is NLF Opening Weekend still that first weekend of June? Even if things have opened up, I can’t imagine that any teams have really practiced yet.

Re: Texas HS Lacrosse 2020
Anyone hear anything about the summer club tournaments? I’m already thinking that the high school season is likely done but wondering if any of the summer club circuit will happen? I’m basing my guess for high school on the assumption that kids won’t be going back to school until the fall.

Westlake beats the Woodlands and ESD this past weekend. My top 4 are Jesuit, Weatlake, ESD and HP.

Re: Should 1 Program be Able to Compete in Multiple Divisions?
Absolutely. And I think most (all?) of the high school clubs need the revenue if they can field a 3rd team. Cutting 20-25 kids just doesn’t make financial sense for them. Not to make a profit, but just to help pay field costs and coaches. Our high school charges more than $1250 and still does fundra...

Re: Should 1 Program be Able to Compete in Multiple Divisions?
And I didn’t answer it directly, but yes, our high schools charge quite a bit to play. The ones I am familiar with charge over $1,250 per season and that doesn’t include team gear.

Re: Should 1 Program be Able to Compete in Multiple Divisions?
Our high school teams are not part of UIL, the state sanctioning body. They are technically club teams, so teams have to pay for field time and the coaches aren’t teachers that just get a small sports stipend. All of that raises expenses, not to mention out of town trips cost money too. So we do hav...

Re: Should 1 Program be Able to Compete in Multiple Divisions?
No one has mentioned the revenue aspect of this. High school lax costs $1250-$2000 per kid depending on the team. The clubs really need the money for coaching and field time, and I can’t see how they would ever agree to turn down $25k-40k by not rostering 20 kids on a D2. You can’t put them all on D...

Re: Texas HS Lacrosse 2020
Westlake beating Vandegrift easily today at Longhorn Shootout, even without their kids that play football. I’m not sure it says much about Vandegrift though...I just think Westlake has a monster team.
Austin High beats Anderson 6-3. Didn’t watch it but surprised it was that close.

Re: Texas 2019
Pros and Cons, but I think it's best that it's not a UIL sport for now. Coaches can just coach now and not have to worry about teaching, and I think that is a big plus to attracting top coaches. Also, some of these coaches are getting paid pretty well...unclear if they would make as much as a teache...

Re: Texas 2019
I don't know D2 that well, so just giving my prediction on Central Texas D1. 1- Westlake - lots of seniors graduated but they have a very strong sophomore class and some very good individual players in '19 and '20. 2- LT - Lost some players and adjusting to a new coach, but I think they have enough ...

Prosper program ran out of money this summer. Lots of upheaval over there.laxman wrote:I heard there was a coaching change in Prosper
Any truth to that?
State meeting coming up. Beside the NCAA rule changes is there any changes that the league is looking into doing?
